Default Chinese 2Din Android Head Unit iGO Primo volume problem

    Hello everyone,

I have a Chinese Android car head unit. The type of unit I have is commonly discussed on this xda forum:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

I have a KLD model S07 (know as the Universal model), with an RK3188 dual core, and pure android (KitKat 4.4.4). The resolution is 800x480, and it has a dedicated SD card for the GPS.

I use iGO Primo v9.6.7.235654 (May 16 2015 [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) with North America maps/poi/buildings. I use regular English voices (US, AU, UK) and regular Spanish voices (ES, AG, MX). It runs great, and the voice volume is good and the music mutes when the voice speaks. However, regular voice files do not have street name announcement functions. I need to have the street names announced with the driving directions. This is very important. I know that only TTS voices have this function with TTS Pro.

I have a few English TTS voices that I downloaded from other sources and several others that I downloaded from this forum section. I am only using the default Android TTS engine in order to keep things simple. When I select my TTS voices the volume and speech are good, and the street names are announced correctly. However, the music does not mute when the TTS voice is speaking. It does not matter if it is the radio, iPod, CD, or MP3 media player. The music does not mute when the TTS voice is speaking. This makes is very very hard to hear and understand the driving directions.

I have also tried editing the sys file with:
    [android]
    navigation_audio_stream=3

When I try using the TTS voices I downloaded from this forum section, I do not hear the voices at all. When I select these voices from the iGO voice settings list, you are normally supposed to hear a sample of the voice. I do not hear any voice at all. However, the music does mute for a brief moment (I beleive this brief moment is supposed to be when the voice sample should be speaking). Compared to my other TTS voices that I mentioned, this is a behavior that does not happen when I select the voice sample.

Is there some type of setting I am missing in my setup?
Am I using the wrong maps?
Am I using the wrong TTS voices?
Is my iGO build or version not complete or fully compatible?
Should I be using another TTS engine (nuance, ivona, svox)?

I have read so much and experimented so much time about this issue. I am at a lose and I finaaly give up.
Can someone please help me, please. Someone who is an expert and much much better skilled at this than I am. Especially with TTS voices for my version of iGO Primo. Also, someone who is familiar with these type of car head units. I don't know if this is something to do with these head units or not. However, when I use google maps as the gps on this head unit - the android TTS volume works good. It mutes the music. So why not iGO Primo TTS voices?

If you like, I can let you download my root iGO folder so that you can see what my setup and build loks like, and help correct what ever needs to be corrected.

I would really appreciate it a lot (donations). This is very important for my driving.

    Thank you very much,
    ggee
