    Android iGO on Android kitkat (install in 4.4.2 device non Rooted)

    igo on android kitkat
    Igo install on android 4.4.2 device non Rooted .

    1: Install and run Igo on the internal memory of the mobile, with only one map in "map" folder ( to lighten ).
    if it suits you and you think that you have enough free memory on your device for the future apps, it stops there .

    2: If you are concerned by against the capacity of your internal memory and you do not want root your device , the solution is having the maps and other things on the external SD .

    _ After installing Igo internally (mem. device)
    _ On the external SD creates a " Addons " folder
    _ Move the "content" folder from internal memory to the " Addons " folder in the external SD memory.

    3 : Add in the sys.txt (in mem. device):

    [ folders ]
    has_secondary_root = 0
    android_secondary_root_path = " / storage / extSdCard / Addons"
    content = " / storage / extSdCard / Addons / content "

    The correct path for the SD card is important , you must replace / storage / extSdCard by your personal SD card access .

    Thanks fervit

    Why simple when it can be complicated ?
    Put all iGO folder on card and add in sys.txt :
    [folders]
    data="/sdcard/iGO"
    In this way only save folder will be on internal .

    Hi, I have been using the app for a few days now with the installation by this method and I have noticed the the speedcams are not being displayed no longer also if you update the speedcams the app with not start is will stop unexpectedly. It looks like this method of installation does not completely solve the installation of the app on Kikat OS. Any suggestion to getting this to work properly is greatly appreciated. The version of iGO I am using is v9.6.22.290143. I have the same issue with the latest version as well, v9.6.29.431282.

    The method in openingpost did not work for me.
    The issues I got playing with this method, were that either Primo starts and than, for some reason, turns in a black screen or starts with the error for missing lang file or missing map.
    Can it have anything to do with the addon foldername I changed to "IGO" ? I do not think so.

    Finally, I solved it by leaving a content folder in "root" only with a lang folder, a voice (don't know if really needed) and a map folder.
    I copied 1 voice and language and the basemap (the smallest map possible) in these folders and added in sys.txt

    has_secondary_root=1
    android_secondary_root_path = "/path_to_the_physical_SdCard/iGO"
    content = "/path_to_the_physical_SdCard/iGO/content"

    Of course path_to_the_physical_SdCard depends on the device

    This works.

    The speedcam file is in the content folder, filled with the Eifrig spc files. Primo displays speedcams.

    I have the whole program on my SD card. I do have a rooted phone though but I was always getting the error message

    missing or incomplete folder:/data/data/com.nng.igoprimoisr.javaclient/sys.txt: open filed: EACCES (Permission denied)

    Turned out I needed a few setting changed still to allow igo to write to the SD so I found this to run and igo is running smooth as silk

    Why you write this?
