    Default iGO8 Caska Ca 3638

caska Ca3638 (also known as VXMII Gen.2) (works with GEN.4 also)

Working with well Primo 1.2 and have now got it working with iGO8
iGO8 is a little faster in the menus but both work equally as well when navigating. one thing i did find with iGO8 though is the ability to change band and baud in the menu that's not available in primo.

for me the caska Ca3638 unit it works on:
    Band:6
    Baud: 4800
with the Xtron SMA GPS antena Frequency:1575.42MHZ

please see below for maplaunch.ini (thanks to Janch for this
and the folder layout (again thanks to Janch)

the download is for iGO8 and Primo 1.2

iGO8 is running just that bit faster and smoother in the menus. both work equally as well when navigating.
iGO8 contains nav software, UK maps, UK voices, UK speedcameras, UK POI. (no buildings as i dont think they are nessasary)
iGO premo 1.2 is just software, you will need to add your own contents. (compiled by Janch)

make sure all files go directly in the root.

    Spoiler: iGO8 Download

I know these VXMII are old units now but should someone come along in the same predicament as i was (buying unit from ebay with no SD card) then they can easily fix the situation and get themselves going again stress free. so with that said, this is more of a archive post than upgrading your system.

    Thanks
    ~David

you certainly don't, but the device has SD slot. You can use any Primo you want.

Many questions become very arduous, a lot of time chewed deja vu...Since we have lost all the year of work and effort, many people have no will to answer the same questions again. Me neither. Use a search, please.
