Ok, I had to take a long trip which alert triggered and saw the black bar alert at top. Here is the change to make it a red bar
Update: I've removed fix because it doesn't work; I will update it later when I get it tested and working.
Update2: Ok, correct hack attached; per tested by Texas. Note that this will change the notification (top bar) from default color to red. This mean ALL notifications (such as GPS lost, alerts, etc...) are affected. Screenshot from Texas in post #75 [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Greetings,
I am very new to this and need some advice.
I have a Joying 8" Android running Lolipop 5.1.1 car system that came loaded with Basarsoft Igo GPS.
I like the basic features but I miss the TTS for named streets and alerts that were on my previous unit.
I have downloaded one of the IGO Next Gen from this site successfully and have been enjoying the menu structure etc but I really want to add TTS
Can someone please guide me through it to either add to my existing program or to add to the one I downloaded here.
I have read much contained here but I am confused by the constant additions and mods etc.
I have a good understanding of electronics as I founded Plinius Audio but programming and such is way beyond me.
So if someone is willing to hold my hand I am a willing pupil.

@Osiris4isis thank you very much, but when I put this I lose other options like TRAFFIC SIGNS, it just shows speed but not traffic signs. Maybe it is about dictionary.we ...
Oh sorry you had to. drive so long but you could have tried it with lockito... it simulates real ride and speedcam. works too.
@PTnavarac if someone fails to answer your question I will post it.. here
TTS HOW TO:
Inside root folder you must have
tts_nua_ve1

Inside UX folder you must have:

Inside content/voice folder you must have TTS VOICE
SYS PART
[tts]
use_tts_lang=1
announce_exit_directions=1
always_say_road_names=3
announce_street_name=1
skip_exit_numbers=0
[vmc_voice]
enter_script="sc_volmanager_voice"
vmc_effect=100
vmc_media=40
[volume_channels]

I am not understanding the problem. What do you mean "lose"? The changed was very simple, just change the color of background of top bar from black to red, nothing else. Therefore, nothing else should be impacted. When I get a chance for another trip, I will test my changes.

Hi Texas,
So many thanks. Can you please direct me to the correct files to go into
tts_nua_ve1
folder and inside it voice engine and common/speech folder.
Is this one OK?
Voice_TTS_Pro-eng-au-Android v2.01 (1)
I think I have everything else but this one I am not certain of.

On the iGO that I downloaded there are two .akp files. Can someone please explain the differences and which one I should install with.
One is : iGO_9.18.27.693527_make.sys_v2.apk
The other is: iGO9.18.27.693527_no.make.sys_v2.apk

Hello.......
make sys: during the installation creates a sys.txt inside the base folder...
no.make.sys: you must create your own....
and about TTS EN AU here you are: (engine + two voices (Lee + Karen) + vr) 240MB

Hi modemakias,
Thank you for those files. I have added them zipped into the TTS EN AU folder.
Do I need to add anything to the content/voice folder?
I really appreciate your help and can see a working solution building.

Hi...
extract both parts...
from within TTS_EN_AU folder:
Voice_TTS-nua-eng-au-f1-lua-full-155mrf22.zip
Voice_TTS-nua-eng-au-m1-lua-full-155mrf22.zip goes to path --> iGO_Gift/content/voice
(vr + vr_vde) --> iGO_Gift/content
tts_nua_ve1 --> iGO_Gift "root"

Both Voice files are encrypted. I cannot extract. What program do I use to extract. It is asking for a password
