iGO Primo 9.6.29 Voice guidance issue - android
Dear all,
I am becoming desperate with this issue, I've spent the last week exploring the web trying to find a solution.
All the sounds play perfectly besides the voice navigation, even when I select the language it doesn't preview like it should, none of them even the pre-installed ones. I've tried everything that i found online, several new apk's, even different Primo's have the same issue, (interesting tough Google maps have voice guidance), new voice files, system restore to factory settings, turning the volume up when the voice command should play, switching FM off in factory settings, setting IGO as default GPS, setting it to mix with other sounds, volume is turned up and all the sliding bars to the max...
device is chinese 2 din 7"
iGO Primo 9.6.29.3889
android 8.1
1024x600
voice is: Voice_Eng-us-m1.zip
i've tried several sys that i found on this forum but it doesn't solve the problem

its weird that everything works perfectly fine besides the voice.
There was Primo 9 installed with the unit, i doubt the seller would install it if it couldn't run...
i will try with next gen, although nextgen looks really bad from the pictures, i would almost rather use Primo 9 with no voice...lol
but i will try with next gen and let you know the outcome...

I've tried the package from the post but there is still no sound.
could I try maybe with an older IGO like 8? do you think it might work?

The picture is of poor quality. If I see good, its is API level 23, which belongs to Android 6. Primo should work, as your example shows.
But, problems with such devices with mutilated software is that they very often lack a lot of system components. It doesn't matter which IGO you put in, obviously there is a problem with the sound drivers. I have heard many complaints about such devices.
Ok, let's try some basic. Value in sys:
experiment with it. Remove ; in front of line. Values areCode:Please Login or Register to see the links
0 = STREAM VOICE_CALL, 1 = STREAM SYSTEM, 2 = STREAM RING, 3 = STREAM MUSIC, 4 = STREAM ALARM, 5 = STREAM NOTIFICATION
first try with 4, then with 3, if not works then with others.
If problem still exists, in your place I would try installing one of the TTS engine's, start with Vocalizer. Then try with TTS voice.

It's weird that in google maps voice guidance works perfectly...

I've installed Vocalizer and dowloaded english voice. Tts premium high. At first it was useless, every 12th corner it would sound but the words were cut in half.
Then I've played with sys command for 'navigation_audio_stream=3'
It was a long shot, I've tried pretty much everything and lost all hope by now. So for one last try to i've decided to check with all the values 0-5.
2 weeks ago i've already tried with 3 and 4 and it didn't do any good so i wasn't really putting much hope into it. I started from the begining and viola with the first try 'navigation_audio_stream=0' it worked somehow. Tested it, it runs flawlessly, i can listen to BT music it lowers the music when giving commands, pronounces clearly all the directions. So special thanks to Boki_Srb. Hvala brate. After almost a month of dealing with the issue it finally works now.
