    Default Stereo Sound switches off on navigation at warnings?

    Hi Guys

    I have a query regarding my 7" Chinese double din head unit running Android 4.4.4 System and iGO_Gift_9.18.27.687519_Kajoe_Pongo 8-3-2018 (great version by the way) thanks @kajoe
    While i am driving with the radio and GPS both on together and i approach any red light cameras, speed cameras or i do a little over the speed limit the sound beeps and my radio volume turns off and I get a part voice about being over speed like “over speed limit” then it doesn't come back on until i switch off the gps and go back to the radio? Is there a setting within the sys.txt file to stop this from happening?

    would it be the bottom line in this setting? or is it something else

    [android]
    fullscreen=1
    ;tablet=0
    has_physical_home_button=0
    create_sdcard_dir=1
    show_status_bar=0
    getdeviceid_trycount=0
    upside_down_bug=1
    ;navigation_audio_stream=4 (this line)

    Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

    Not too sure if this will be a help or hindrance but I had more or less the same problem. My setup is a bit different in the way that my head unit runs Android 6.0 and am using the Igo_Pal with Arami's modified skin.

    I found the sound issue was nothing to do with Igo, but in the settings of the head unit. Boki_Srb put me on the right tracks.

    If you can go into the factory settings, have a look for system volume and radio volume. I found that Igo's sound runs through the system volume, so it was a case of patience and playing with these settings between the radio and system volume to get the balance right between the two. Also, if you have an option in the driving settings to mix or cut radio off, I found the mix works better. The radio volume will drop but Igo will talk through my front right speaker and when finished the radio will come back up.

    It maybe worth a try.

    Does maybe the change of used stream changes your behaviour?

    Section in sys file:

    [android]
    navigation_audio_stream=4
    ; 0-STREAM_VOICE_CALL, 1-STREAM_SYSTEM, 2-STREAM_RING, 3-STREAM_MUSIC, 4-STREAM_ALARM, 5-STREAM_NOTIFICATION
    ; <<= explanation of values

    ========

    Or navigation_audio_stream=3, or...

    I have a cheap android unit...I have already looked for settings in head unit but there is nothing there that does this....I guess it will have to be done in the sys file...I may have to play with the audio settings

    Have sort of tried this...what’s the difference between the numbers...is it the loudness or priority?

    No.
    The problem is up to the devices themselves. The Chinese make a zillion models, all behave differently

    navigation_audio_stream - the sys commands are very logical. In this case they say what type of sound should be transferred (streamed) to which kind of device / channel.
    Only by experimenting you can determine what works (if works) with your device.
    But, if there is a problem with the device itself, no adjustment in sys will help. You only have the opportunity to try another type of software.

    Hi
    So just to give you all an update, it is not my "head unit or device" at all as mentioned, it is the iGO Nextgen Software itself.
    I tried heaps of adjustments and sys.txt settings with no effect i un installed it and tried a couple of other programs, Sygic latest build and HERE WeGO and both worked fine
    I have successfully installed the latest Sygic Version without a hiccup and sound dims when i go over speed limit and other alerts pop up.

    So goodbye to iGO Nextgen..........

    Every device with more (then only one) audio sources must have some delay when switching from one audio source to another.
    Some of them just switch sources, other are cross-fading (mixing) in some period, usually 1-2 seconds.
    This delay varies from device to device and on some devices it can be changed, on others can not.

    On the other side, some programs have delay (pause) between signal for changing audio source and sending real message, giving enough time to that device to actually switch audio source, so complete message could be reproduced.
    And some programs do not have this delay (pause) before actual audio message, so first part of message could be missing in that situation (like with NextGen).

    I do not have unit to test it and find working solution, but I think that there must be some way to "instruct" NextGen to put some delay (pause) before every message, so this kind of devices could have enough time to switch audio source to navigation and reproduce complete message.

    Maybe some versions of NextGen developed for specific car head unit or some other device do have some kind of command somewhere in configuration doing this - inserting delay/silence before message.

    This is only my thinking about problem, and maybe it could give some idea to someone how to find general solution for this problem.

    Hi
    Thanks for the reply...I have passed this onto the suppliers of the head unit in China so hopefully they can test them properly. Nextgen Primo was sold with them and version was 2014 so maybe the newest versions are a bit more sound depending....anyway hopefully someone knows the fix or the suppliers will have a solution...

    You can cause a delay before switching with the "pause_mp3_sooner=2" parameter in sys.txt (under the "sound" section). Here is a link to a thread where another use needed the same option for his head-unit.

    May or may not help...

    Hi, have same problem here, i have an android 9.1, 9" android car unit. When the radio or music is on, both google maps and sygic navigation sounds mix with the radio very well.
    When running igo 9.18.27.687519 Pongo 2020 Skin, the radio keeps switching off when igo makes any sounds. Using igo at the momemt with all sound muted so i can listen to radio at least.
