Default Newbie - need help with Nextgen, please?

    Friends,

I have searched the forum high and low and I am confused with the so many different results that are coming up.

I am located in India and I have a WinCE6 unit that runs iGo Primo flawlessly. But I want to upgrade to Nextgen.

Can you please help me with the following questions:

    1. Which version of Nextgen should I download?
    2. Will my Here maps (for Primo) work with Nextgen?
    3. Will I need license files for India? Are they available at all?

Thank you, really, for your help. I know I should search the forum and believe me I have - only to come right back to where I started.

    Cheers!

Thank you for helping. I have never used NextGen so I am not sure which version will be good for me. I have the YFAtlas4 unit which I reckon has 64 or 128 MB memory and a 5-inch screen.
Also, I will be using the GPS in India and New Zealand. Again - I have searched the forum high and low and I have not found any specific license files for these regions.
Please, your guidance will be greatly appreciated.

You might be able to get away with a 128MB for NextGen; but I wouldn't be impressed with performance. NextGen on WinCE is painful because you have to find license for any contents (and I doubt you'll find it for region like India.) Stick with Primo.

I fully agree with your comments/requests as I have done the same. I have also followed instructions on searching and found what I thought would be fine only to find ater I have hit the like button that the information is no longer available. Okay I understand the need to search but on odd occasions a little help would be really appreciated for both Newbie's and Seniors.

Searching via forum doesn't really work too well. You have to search "manually" by reading posts (the more browsing you do the better off you are) "Information" are always available from hidden post (unless changed by originator of the post or admin.) Links to external download servers might expired or deleted; but any attached file(s) in a post will always be available. If you post a question, don't expect immediate response (some of us try to scan the post and try to answer whenever possible) If you don't get response in say a week, gently request it again and hope we spot it. Finally keep in mind, forum are users contributed. No one is getting paid to sit around and find answer, we do it help each others and in return we expect you to do the same in the future (help another if you know answer)

Many thanks for the understanding. However I do find that reading through all the posts to get the answer, if it is available, has the effect of frustration as normally a person these days wants to get the system up to date as fast as possible. I find the problem of reading through the posts that on odd ocassions although I started in a wince post a followed link sometimes ends up in android inadvertantly and you think you have resolved your problem but you have not and you have to start again. You then get a response that indicates you should research before asking questions and therefore you do not ask and just get fed up by not being able to complete your task.

Nothing comes easy. If you want "fast" support for a product, go to the maker of the product (they should provide better support) There are MANY posts with repeated solutions to a problem; so the burden is on YOU to find it. BTW, browsing posts to find one that solved YOUR problem is not total waste, YOU will learn other things. Finally, a solution might not solved YOUR problem because, it's not possible to test it every time. No one has every possible environments. Good thing about a forum is if one suggestion/solution doesn't work, look for another.
