    nextgen Shared content in root of INTERNAL memory - SOLVED

    Dear Friends,
    Today I replaced my old phone with new VIVO 5S (64GB internal memory and 4GB RAM, no SD card option, screen resolution 720x1280 pixels ) running on Android 6.0 [Funtouch OS].

    And then I invited problems.

    Everything was working fine on my old handset (old classical iGO, NextGen [world edition, basarsoft, Israel versions from this forum])
    I just copied every App folder (iGO, iGO_World, etc))from old phone and pasted it on new Phone (everything on root as there is no external SD Card- even addons on internal SD). and installed these Apps. But they just crash without any message. I tried to find debug info, but its blank.
    My old phone has the same resolution so sys.txt is the same.

    I am unable to find whats wrong, any inputs on this friends? I tried to delete addons and copied the all the required files in "Content"
    folder. But no luck. ( Im using all the variants of iGo past 3 years and I am aware of its folder structure/installation and little bit of tweaks in sys.txt) but never faced issue like this.)

    [Incidentally, Sygic 17 and Navigon works well]
    Please help Masters.
    Thank you in advance.

    Probably bad settings in sys files. All of them.
    Btw, too little information about old phone to compare.

    Dear Boki_srb.
    Old phone was VIVO Y55s ((16GB internal memory and 3GB RAM, SD card 32GB, screen resolution 720x1280 pixels ) running on Android 6.0 [Funtouch OS].
    Everything was working fine here. I had "addons\content" on external SD card.
    I did not change anything is sys.txt (attached here for reference.)

    Thank you.

    Well, it can not remain same. I guess this is sys only from Gift.
    It is constantly discussed for months, about installing the program, placing content on an external card, and setting up sys file.
    You want to do oposite.
    In your old sys, this section:

    [folders]
    data_folder_name="iGO_Gift"
    ....
    has_secondary_root=1
    android_secondary_root_path="/sdcard/addons"

    It must be changed:

    ;has_secondary_root=1
    ;android_secondary_root_path="/sdcard/addons"

    // or, if you still want to use same shared folder:

    has_secondary_root=1
    android_secondary_root_path="/sdcard/addons"
    // - > change sdcard with exact name how your system see internal memory. Use X-Plorer, or TTC, or ESF Explorer...

    Also, you have to delete save folder.

    Dear Boki_srb,
    I have "addons/content" in a shared folder on root of internal memory, as mentioned in sys.txt.
    Before changing this path, i tried to copy "content" folder inside iGO folder but the result is same.
    My external SD card is seen as exactly "sdcard" by TotalCommander. And deleted "save" folder as well.

    Ok, is there a way to enable debugging? Hopefully, before exiting iGo must be writing about the error why its crashing abnormally.

    Thank you.

    Hmm, I forgot something, but I can check it tomorrow. There was some issue with models only with internal memory.
    Have you tried clean install, only few maps in base folder? It should work.

    In the meantime, try also:
    has_secondary_root=0
    ;android_secondary_root_path="/mnt/sdcard/addons"
    try to enable/disable second line.

    Default Solution that works

    I find phone with only internal mem, and tested.
    When you make folder Addons in root of internal memory, there is no way to start software - tested with Avic/Gift/World...no metter what is in sys file.
    So, I guess it is app related - addons have to be redirected on different (external) storage.

    Edit:

    Solution:

    Works for all NG versions, tested on 2 phones for now

    Dear Boki_srb,
    Thank you so much for your help. This trick worked well.
    1. I created folder iGO_Maps in root.
    2. I copied content(Map files) in it
    3. entries in sys.txt:
    This post requires you to click the "LIKE this post" button and hit F5 to read this content.
    4. All worked well. I just restarted the App, and it started well with the configuration and showed everything properly.
    5. I tested it on Avic, Szulin, Gift, World and Israel version of NextGen and all worked well.

    I really appreciate your help.
    Hope this will help others who had similar issues as well.

    Regards
    dinesh

    Hello, I encounter a similar problem, "missing or incomplete directory / sdcard / igo_nextgen" I do not have SD card slot, should I change the path sys.txt "folder" to direct it to memory internal?

    I have version 9.18.27. 687519.sd

    Pleas use English on Forum, ONLY

    The title of this topic is quite clear - CONTENT in INTERNAL memory.
    You're using SOFTWARE package for external card. You have other problem.

    I guess you have a modern phone/device. Also with some newer Android. The latest editions of android have restrictions on writing, installing and the like on the card.
    Where it is possible at all to install iGO from the card, specific paths are used.
    Read instructions carefully, and use standard iGO Nextgen package (for internal), not SD mod.
