    Default Correct navi path for Casca HU ?

    dont suppose you know how to make the maplaunch.ini file for caska vxmii gen2 i cant seem to get it to work "no map maplaunch.imi not found"

    i tried creating the imi with
    [map]
    \iGo8\iGo8.exe

    it then boots up in to some stylus screen configuer and then closes back to radio

    I have experience with Rosen GM1010's, which I believe is made by Caska - it's iGo card always have a maplaunch.ini in the root directory - here are the contents:

    [MAP]
    path=NNG\nngnavi.exe

    [bmp]
    backbmppath=ui\BackGround.bmp
    calibratebmppath=ui\calibrate.bmp

    It's a start... :-)

    so it would be
    SD card/
    iGO8 (all contents in here)
    maplaunch.ini

    strangely this version i purchased on ebay also has touch.cfg in root as well as device.nng

    i think i will try a version from here and then if i get it working transfer over maps and traffic etc.

    i also notice in the command line you have it pointing to a bitmap for UI but all versions i download do not contain a UI folder inside the iGO8 folder. does it pick up bmp from the brand or data.zip?

    I'm wondering if perhaps i'm not naming the folder and exe correctly. when i brought this unit preowned it never has the original map installed

    On my Rosen units, the iGo directory is named "nng" (not "igo8") and the iGo executable is named "nngnavi.exe" (they do also have touch.cfg and device.nng files in the root directory).

    I think your main issue is that the iGo directory and executable are not named properly. On my particular unit, the maplaunch.ini file isn't even used - probable left over from an older version of the radio - or they use the same GPS cards for multiple radios - not sure if it's really needed in your case or not. But I would set it up exactly as I show above - and make sure the iGo directory is named "nng" (instead of "iGO8") and the iGo executable is "nngnavi.exe".

    Unfortunately, these Caska units don't seem to allow you to modify the Navi paths - you have to use the names that are hardcoded (nng and nngnavi.exe).

    Don't worry about customizing the [bmp] section for now - it's probably not even used. Just put it there just in case though (again, as I show above).

    Let us know how you make out.

    BMP section is not mandatory
    Only right path and right named main exe. Yes, it is very possible that was never original sw on it

    just popped down from flat and thats a no go also.

    im just getting a black screen with a windows popup box with [OK] written in the top and in the text box just "a" if i leave it on this screen after 5 secs it goes back to radio station (or dvd) and if i tap the box several times it takes me to a touch screen configuration with after tapping on all the X's then closes and takes me back to the radio station.

    on my actual interface the satnav is called "NAVI" if that helps?

    ive just gone into hidden menu and the offical name of this unit is Ca3638

    Spoiler: too small pic

    Just to confirm - the SD card that you are using is FAT32 format, correct?

    Can you post the following:

    1. The contents of the nng\crash.txt file (assuming it exists)
    2. A picture of the root of your SD card
    3. A picture of the contents of the "nng" directory
    4. The contents of your nng\sys.txt file.

    That should give us something to go on.

    Also, just to confirm - are you seeing different results now than you did before renaming the "igo8" directory to "nng" and the executable to "nngnavi.exe"?

    And what are the names of your folder and main exe?
    I see that error show igo8 folder and igo8.exe main exe. In path you specified NNG and nngnavi.exe, so must be like that.
    You must try by yourself - change names and try.
    Delete crash log, and try again.
    And, read FORUM RULES and learn how to use spoilers, also you will know how to add pic

    Edit
    I saw your pics. Delete device.nng files (both). Delete crash file. Try again

    P.S. I see also you put too much files.
    Do you know that iGO8 do not recognize a lot of new files? Delete all of them. Delete all files that are not used (langs, voices, speedcams, lics).

    Also, your unit is strong enough. You can use Primo without problems. Btw, Primo also do not use all files available.
    I got some info that you need ordinary SD card, not SDHC. So find it (2GB).

    We went outside the main topic
    Will create new one later, from posts dedicated to your problem.

    Thanks, just read the rules. I'll do it properly next time.

    deleted the device.nng file from root and nng folder and also the crash file. same error occers and no new crash file is created. screen still sits on touchscreen stylus configuer after pressing the windows popup as shown in pics above.
