Default Issue with 3dc files - Serbia

    Hi guys,

My first post here, and I'm starting with an issue.

I'm long time iGO user, starting with WinCE and I had used files Serbia.3dc (1.175.120KB) and Serbia_petrol.3dc (847.156KB) and Primo versions previously with no issues. I can't remember where I got them, but believe it was with TopMap - local EE providers @2009.

Recently, with one of the updates to newer Primo editions I've experienced problem with these files not being recognized, i.e. labelled as "Inactive content". I rarely used gps in Belgrade/Serbia and wasn't paying attention to pin-point upon which update it occurred.

I have recently updated to Primo v9.6.29.636868 (thanks to this forum) with initial set of licenses and the problem remained. I've even tried to copy all available licenses (another post) or to add them from periodic backups I made, but with no solution.

Different editions, like Serbia_HERE_2016.Q4_161208.3dl do work, but it glitches and 3d models keeps appearing and disappearing. Some of them only have name and different shadings on the map (I'm using no skins), but not drawn object.

Reviewing initial file (3dc) in IGO View I've noticed that it's recognized extension is '3dl', so I've changed - renamed it and it worked! But, some of the glitches described above remained, and I'm puzzled because I've found initial extension on the net, it used to work and I never had to rename it before.

I'm coming to my question: Does anybody know which license would sort this problem? What is causing glitches?
I would like to use old version (size is almost double of NTQ versions) and renders look better, but it seems to me that some buildings are simply not there (might be landmark vs building difference) if rename it to 3dl.

Sorry for long post, any comment would be much appreciated.
    File is attached.

Name? .3dc and .3dl do not have names. Post screenshots. Also post Serbia_HERE_2016.Q4_161208.3dl

@osiris. Thanks for answering. Here is screenshot and other 3dl.

See for example title 'Glavna pošta' in between two buildings. And two distant ones on red background. Titles match names of actual buildings.

    Spoiler: pic

Do this, zoom in/out and rotate left/right, are missing buildings showing? Also can you tell me the GPS lat/lon of the building (glavna posta) that is missing?

Rotation yields no results, tried before. I also drove by that location, couple of times.

    N44.81058 E20.46711.

I think I know what you are up to, to see if there is an actual 3d image on file, right? I also thought of that, but couldn't figure it by myself how to review .3dc/.3dl, I'm not into coding.

Serbia_HERE_2016.Q4_161208.3dl doesn't contain any landmark close to N44.81058 E20.46711 but has two with a close lat of 44.8105
    N 44.8105469 - E 20.4609375
    N 44.8105469 - E 20.4648438
Could they be for "Dom Narodne skupstine" and "Hram Svetog Marka"? Could you check lat/lon for those two landmarks?
Also could you post screenshot of using ONLY Serbia.3dl at that similar lat/lon?

Update: On my android phone running NextGen9.18.27.687519-Gift(26Jan2017), there are no landmark names and there is no landmark at N44.81058 E20.46711 (yellow circle with star)

I'll bet I know why you're seeing names

Here's 3dl files for Serbia are ridiculous. They contain a minor number of objects.
Also, there is no exists their 3dc file.

I believe they are not. First one is way off this location and has no POI nor building.
As for ''my hack', it could be reason but I can't remember doing it (nor I can recall how to do it right now
Also could you post screenshot of using ONLY Serbia.3dl at that similar lat/lon?
The first image I've posted was from taken with 'Serbia.3dl' only. Your screenshot is with 'Here Serbia', check the differences in colors and minor on forms, this is not due to screen/primo/gift or something. Same shades (see church roof) are on my phone.

Boki, this is not an issue if Here 3dl are good (I'm aware they are limited) and I know there is no 'Here 3dc', please check my 1st post. I found 'Serbia.3dc @NNG 2009 on the net and it was working as it is, until it stopped at some time and I had to rename it to '3dl', but I believe some of the information from that file is simply not showing. I think that 2009 file had more buildings (including 'Glavna posta').

If I put both files they are working in merged mode, showing some buildings one map alone doesn't contain by itself. Example ('Beogradjanka', 'PC Usce', etc). Is there a chance to make 'Serbia 2009' to work in 3dc mode, as before? Licence or something?

Here is what I think happened, if you renamed a .3dl to .3dc, it will only show the "property" of .3dc which is simple polygon (or in your case, just the footprint)
It's not a licensing problem, it's a type problem. .3dl files should not be renamed as .3dc and vice-versa.
What happen if you only use one .3dl at a time? You should not see the "footprint" problem.

Update: Renaming .3dl to .3dc will cause licensing* problem on NextGen and won't displayed it. BTW, you can create your own landmarks

    * it might behave differently on Primo since licensing is handled differently. What Primo version are you using?

That file is almost 10 years old.
There are also several files for Serbia from NNG, and all now old at least 5 years. I can give you all that exists, but ...
Changing extension can not change the record in file, either provide you more information.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for NNG content appeared couple of days before.

Yes, you can put several 3dc/3dl files from different provider, merging is usually OK, only sometimes you may see overlap.
