Default InDash Stereo/Nav - iGO 9.6 - Local Search and Live Traffic?

    Hello from a newbie!
I have already searched several forums but haven't been able to find an answer.
I just bought an in-dash stereo/nav non-name nav system from eBay. It has iGO 9.6.13.267029

The local search / google search feature says "cannot connect to server". I read about editing the sys.txt and tried it unsuccessfully.
My question is this - how can/will the unit access the servers/internet for local search / live traffic? Through a bluetooth connection to my cell?
Because if that is not possible, then I guess sys.txt or anything else will not help either.

    Thanks!

My guess is that it's not possible. I also have a 2DIN WInCE head-unit (Rosen DS-GM1010-P11) and there is no way to access the internet with it. The iGo application is used on MANY different devices - but that doesn't mean that every iGo option is going to work on every device.

Most of these 2DIN devices use a separate "on chip" GPS module, which performs the GPS function completely separate from the rest of the device and doesn't have any way to interact with a wifi-hotspot or bluetooth or anything (even though the "main" device supports bluetooth, there is no way for the GPS application to see the bluetooth radio).

Thank you for your reply. It would be great if someone were to show us otherwise!
