I have just voted for Primo.
The only thing in my wishlist for both apps is to be recognized as navigation/geo app by android system, or in the other word, can be an option to run when click on address in txt, webpage, or contacts.
Currently, can not find any version of app satisfies this requirement.
Then I take one step back, can access the address in contacts from app.
Primo can access address in contacts from app, while no version of nextgen can.
So I voted for Primo.
I have installed both app on my Nexus 6 and let them share maps/poi/... .
I like the map display by NextGen better.
I try both and i think PRIMO is BETTER.
NexGen need more memory, powerful procesor and is so slow
Agree!
Plus, it is very difficult to customize and each variant behaves differently depending on the device and the android version.
Primo version is mature and stable.
It.is very difficult to say now which is better. Nextgen is with us for. some time now. and unfortunately it is not without bugs.
Primo
Fast, stable,.easy to. customize due to a. great support by skiners and. programers. etc. It. is simply longer. here.
But graphics is terrible,.it is just obsolete. Primo is. losing this battle every day,.new QHD. screens. do not support primo etc etc. There is no easy screen manipulation like with DPI. and Base dpi in nextgen. But for older devices it is still a great choice.
Plus:
-----------
Fast
Stable
Customization
Fast GPS. lock
Not a resource hog
Minus:
-----------
Graphics
High RES support
No dpi like customization
NEXTGEN:
This was. said before, "is. more evolution than revolution"...
Plus:
----------
Graphics
High res support
DPI. manipulation
Can be as fast as Primo
More customization support every day
Minus:
------------
Not always stable
GPS. lock not. so. good
Can be resource hog
Occasional crashes
Bugs (tunnel crash, no gps. crash, jumps on the crossroad etc)
Both are very good, I am using NextGen and it works, those tiny bugs it has are nothing comparing with what we get from it.

When NextGen was first released, it was inferior to Primo because of the maturity of skins available for Primo. But after using it for a while and once a while I see Primo (with skins), I think damn, NextGen looks pretty good! NextGen has major advantages over Primo regarding graphics; especially on android for high resolution devices. Its core code is also getting better and modders are getting good at it making skins for it. But each to their own.
One thing is for sure, PRIMO is DEAD, we just. need to. it let it go peacefully. Nextgen is simply present and future. I am not a. coder nor I have knowledge to understand that but obviously NextGen is made to be fully customizable for NNG customers. It will just get better and better in the future. Currently I. am. using it for city drive and it works. Have not had chance to test it interstate but soon will. So. far it works,. but better buy yourself older devices to. keep primo or simply embrace the change. Resistance is futile.

I think if people use it for a while (say over 6 months) they will see that it isn't bad. Definitely will make impression if you see Primo afterward for comparison purposes. There are few old android devices or WinCE PNA that Primo is still great; hell, I'm still using iGO8 on one of the old Mio unit and the update rate is awesome fast. Yes, "resistance is futile", unless you're Jean-Luc Picard.
Hi,
I've been using Nextgen in my WinCE 128 mb car unit for about a year now.
I'm happy with it and i don't want to come back to the old good primo.
