    help Install/update iGO navigation on Blaupunkt New York 830/5

    Hi guys,

    My dad just bought our very first car with "supposedly" built in navigation system, the Blaupunkt New York 830.
    Only when the car arrived that we found that there is no navigation option in it,

    Do you have any advise on what do I need to do first,
    Do I need to install iGo primo in it first, or download a map and install via microSD? (I have downloaded a map here in .rar format)

    even a little help will be greatly appreciated.

    Here is the user interface in it,

    Strange, because when I look up the device on the Internet, I find that Primo is preloaded, at least in Europe. And that on a SD card.
    First question thus: is there an SD card with the system? Also a navigation button should be the top left button on screen, but I don't see that button on your (right) image. (because the SD is not inserted?
    When you go trough the settings, can you see anything that points to any navigation? And is there a way to explore the contents of the SD?

    Thanks G-ulash for your time, my device does not come with any SD card, I also have browsed the user manual of this device, and browsed the internet for a possible fix, but still no luck.

    Then i found this website out when i was looking for a malaysia map for my device, thinking it would solve the problem. So I downloaded, bought a 32gb micro sd card, and loaded the micro sd with the map,
    When I tried plugging it into the micro SD slot on the top right which supposedly is for the navigation software, it does not seem to be reading my micro SD card at all. and FYI the upgrade button on the bottom right does nothing at all only shows that it is being selected.

    I have emailed blaupunkt and Naviextras (the map provider) about this problem, asking for their advise, but they have not got back to me yet thus far.

    Can you see in the settings of the device (to the left from the "upgrade" button) if somewhere there is a link to a navigation or a way to set up such link?
    In which case we possibly could provide you with the software and maps

    I dont see any navigation option at all in the settings, but i know that it uses iGo-primo software with maps downloaded from naviextras, here is some of the information about the navigation system:

    Navigation *
    Platform: iGo primo
    Data carrier: Micro-SD

    Display
    Technology: Digital
    Type: TFT
    Screen size: 6.2"
    Resolution: 800 x 480 pixels

    Although im not so sure whether it runs on windows platform or android.
    Attached are some of the pictures of the list of options in the settings menu

    I spent about 15 minutes trying to find out what OS it runs = ????

    A few things to think about :
    Is there a set up function = Can you direct the OS to the exe file ?

    Otherwise you may need to load iGO directly to the root of the SD card , rather than into a folder that resides in the root of the SD card ..

    Now if its an android device ? Its not going to run software made for Win CE ... Thats a given .
    Now if mem serves , is there a 3rd OS ( ? )

    Blaupunkt NY 830 is WindowsCE 6.0 os based device. Navigation along with the maps comes on a micro SD card. So here is what you have to do:

    1. DL iGO Primo for wince (you can find it here on the forum)
    2. Copy Folder Primo on a SD card and rename main iGO folder to RTNavi
    3. Rename Primo.exe to mobilenavigator.exe
    4. edit sys.txt file inside the new RTNavi folder:

    [gps]
    port=4
    baud=57600
    send_init=0
    set_messages=0

    [sound]

    5. Add maps, pois..
    6. Insert your new SD card to SD card slot on your Blaupunkt and enjoy!

    important note: there are 2 SD card slots in Blaupunkt NY 830 - one is for multimedia, and the second is for navigation, so be sure that you put navigation SD card in to the corresponding slot. Slot for navigation SD is in the upper right corner of your system.

    hello! I have a similar problem with a Blaupunkt New York 835 that I recently installed in my car. I suspect the GPS software ( i.e. iGo Primo) is a cracked version, although I bought the unit from an authorized dealer . I succeded in updating maps by simply copying them to the corresponding folder on the microSD card, but I am not able to install a newer version of iGo. I have read all the discussions here about Blaupunkt and it seems that the folder structure on my "original" card is entirely different form what it should be.( I have a "RTNavi" folder wich is empty, and a "mobilenavigator" folder which contains the actual software). if anybody has any advice or ideas, I would be very grateful.
