My feeling is that you may have an incomplete distribution and you are now trying to recreate it manually...something that may end in error after error (solve one, then get another one).
The best advice might be to get rid of what you have (it may be a cobbled mess) and download a complete distribution (most come with all files/folders required minus maps--just add any maps you want) suitable for your hardware resolution and start over.

very possible.. I am working with the version of IGO primo that came preloaded on the gps unit.. I was wary of re-installing from scratch in case I couldn't get it to use the external sd card again.. maybe yes I should start afresh.. I have the maps already so maybe a complete useable install is the way to go.. can you point me to the right download please?
Ah...OK...you are attempting to mix a <potential> "legit" version with stuff (maps, etc) that did not come with it and not so 'legit'. This often does not work out well and creates the mess you may be in.

And get any 9.6.x version that may suit. Having the very latest build is not very important at all and sometimes the latest is not the best depending on the hardware used. I am currently using 9.6.29.331894 with good results. Tried others more current...not as good on my device.
Once you have the correct base iGo folder and some build working (after adding your maps). you can experiment with added features, skins, or other builds. Get it working in minimum form first.

yes at the moment the 800x429 not supported is the problem.. maybe starting again would be the best idea..So far I downloaded the maps and created IGO folders on the sd card. Launched app and get a licence verification failed error.. added a licence folder from here and got global config not found. downloaded and added that from here and got the resolution not supported error.. sorry new to GPS hacks.. still learning.
Hi,
Before to restart, did you delate device.nng, sys.txt and folder "save ought to be empty to. ?
yeh I figured that would be the case.. ended up having to reset device due to endless cycling and lost the installed version of IGO primo anyway. as I've successfully managed to get the co-pilot gps software installed and working I'm going to use that for now. I'll play with IGO again when I have time. over Christmas maybe as the co-pilot only works using the internal memory and not the external sd card. the downloadable apps seem to just adapt to the device resolution without me having to edit config or sys files or anything more complicated.. thanks for all who helped me.
