    help iGO8 Speedcam map icons.

Hi. I am in desperate need of help from a Skin expert please.
I have a Chinese 5" 480x272 and a Chinese 7" 800x480 both running iGO8.3.5.193799 with skins heavily modified by me based on GJ6.16. The problem that I have is with the speed camera icons that display on the map (Not the popup warnings etc. they work fine.) On my 5", the icons display the type of camera, fixed, mobile etc. but the 7" only displays a single generic camera icon.
I believe that the icons are sourced from {SKIN}\ui_igo8_da\common\speedwarnings.bmp (but could be wrong) and its associated speedwarnings.spr files. I have copied these from the 5" to the 7" and although the copied *.bmp strip shows the various camera types, the 7" still only displays the generic cam icon.
    Anyone got any ideas please.

I do not know igo8, but in 2.4 there are several files related to speedcam:

    ico_speedcams.bmp
    speedwarn.bmp
    speedwarn_list.bmp
    speedwarn0.bmp
    speedwarn0_list.bmp
    speedwarn1.bmp
    speedwarn1_list.bmp
    etc...

Yes, you are wrong Try to change these files in resolution-dependent folder (800_480, 480_272)

480_272 uses icons with 32 pixel hight, 800_480 uses higher (If I remember well, 55 pixel)

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I thought that was a possibility, but couldn't find a suitably named speedwarn.bmp in the res dependent folder. I'll have another look this afternoon and report back.

Right then. Firstly to find out definitely what my working 480x272 was actually displaying on the map, I changed the content of {SKIN}\ui_igo8_da\common\speedwarn.spr to increase STRIPES=30 to STRIPES=50. Sure enough, when they displayed, they were all screwed up with about 1.5 cameras showing. So the 480x272 deffo uses that speedwarn.spr and the *.bmp that is named within the .spr file, which in my case is Bmp = "ui_igo8_da/common/speed_cams_NoA_TT.bmp". I also changed the .bmp file and the camera icons changed as might be expected.
I had a look for camera related files in the {SKIN}\ui_igo8_da\480_272 folder and couldn't find any likely *.bmp files.

So on to the 7" 800x480
I repeated the changing stripes exercise on {SKIN}\ui_igo8_da\common\speedwarn.spr but that made no difference to the displayed icon on the map. I then looked for likely *.bmps in the {SKIN}\ui_igo8_da\800_480 folder and could only find one called kamerak.bmp and its associated kamerak.spr file. The STRIPES in the *.spr are 188 and the icons are the big ones that are displayed when you go to add a camera manually.

Conclusion. The 480x272 uses the speedwarn.bmp in the \common folder on the 5" but the 800x480 on the 7" doesn't and I can't find the file that it does use :=( (yet)

Any other ideas anyone? In the meantime, I'll look for likely *.spr files and screw around with the STRIPES until I find the one that screws up the map icons.

Sorted. Thanks to Gigya for the resolution folder hint.
I copied speedwarn.bmp and speedwarn.spr from the \common folder into the \800_480 folder just on the offchance and it now works just fine and dandy. Just have to sort out the icons and make them a little bigger, perhaps, if I can find the enthusiasm.

Thanks for the pointer Gigya, I appreciate your help.

Later: Resized my 30x30 icons up to 40x40 and got rid of the alpha layer as iGO8 applies transparency that makes them harder to see. Result!
