    Default Help with NON TTS Nextgen speedcams audio (WECv7)

    Hi all,

    My new car has Nextgen for the Navi and I'm trying to add sounds for the warnings using Non TTS instead of the normal beeps for each warning.

    I've placed the WAV sound files in ui_nextgen/audio and my sys.txt is below. I've only shown one Speedcam category as they are all the same except for the warning WAV file.

    However, I'm still getting the default beeps and not the WAV sounds. Can anyone see what I have done wrong?

    TIA

    Greg

    Since I use TTS warnings now, I wonder if the audio files should not be .ogg? I forgot, sorry.
    What I do remember is that the name of the audio folders should be correct. ENG for English, Australian possibly AUS ?

    Hmm. I think that I read somewhere, that NG can not use wav files. Primo can, but NG no. Not sure about ogg, but I think it does not matter.

    Absolutely wrong, .wav works perfectly under NextGen9.18.27.687519-Gift(26Jan2017)*. Configuring it to work for speedcam is another story.

    * look at my road warning UX for it, it has ability to use TTS, tone or sound.

    The filename of audio must be correct. Are you sure it's not !alert2 as in
    overspeed_sound="!alert2"

    Also if you're not using TTS, shouldn't
    is_spoken=0

    Finally, most of these settings are for a particular skin you're using and irrelevant if you're not using that skin.

    Ok, maybe I was not precise enough, I thought means considering that the topic was about speedcam warnings.
    Non TTS can not use wav. Why, I didn't check. It did not seem logical for me either.
    Will try to find proper answer.

    I created a UX so road warning can be configured using tone, audio or TTS for NextGen9.18.27.687519-Gift(26Jan2017) at [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
    So I know .wav works under NextGen.

    You're using WinCE so UX won't help you because the it was for android but unlikely NextGen engine would handle .wav any differently. What is full version of proggy you're using and are you using any skin?

    Update title to include speedcam. Speedcam or not, .wav capability is determined by proggy. Configuration is the issue not format.

    NG Version is 9.18.23.568625

    No added skin. The software is stock what came with the vehicle. Here's a screenshot of a couple of the folders.
