    Dear members,
you can vote this poll and let us know which map do you prefer and please add why and all your comments in this thread.
    Thanks

If you vote this poll, please post in which country you prefer HERE or TT.
At the end of this poll we could compile a table showing what is the best in each region for GPSPower users

Here, opinions should be published by long-time users who often travel and have tried versions of all publishers available for their country.
Not beginners in iGO and Forum who are just registered and write something just to make a certain amount of posts

For Estonia, the best map would be "Eesti Regio" which can be used in Garmin devices.

I'm not really sure which is better in my country (Australia), but out where I live in Western Queensland the HERE map seems to be the most accurate.
Whereis gets it wrong with a lot of the smaller roads (like the major intersection in my sig., lol), out by hundreds of metres in some spots & doesn't even show some that are shown on the HERE map.
    HERE gets those mostly correct.
HERE gets it wrong with some of the unpaved road names or where they claim to be near, sometimes it'll say "Unpaved road near xxx", when it's 70 or 80 kilometres from where xxx actually is, and there'll be another location a lot closer that it could possibly use.
But the position of the road itself on the map is usually fairly accurate.
The spelling of some road names and locations could be a little better with the HERE map, lol.
Apparently in the higher populated areas nowdays it's six of one & half a dozen of the other as to which is most accurate.
One thing I like about Whereis is it shows major creeks and rivers out this way, HERE does not.

I am in New Zealand and have a choice of HERE or WhereiS maps. TomTom maps for iGO are not available.

I prefer WhereiS maps because they have much more detail in the cities, showing walking tracks, private lanes and alleyways which HERE does not. Downside is that only map, poi, hnr and fsp files are provided. This seems to be true also for the parts of Australia (only cities) I have visited.

HERE updates map, poi, hnr and fda with each release but the last issue of fpa, fsp and fjv files was 2013 Q2.

Speed limit data is pretty much rubbish on both so you just have to watch the signs

I will be following this discussion with interest as in a few weeks I will be riding a motorcycle from England to Greece through the Balkans, and back via Italy. I would dearly like to know which maps are best in the countries between France and Greece.

For me the choice is either HERE or TomTom.
TomTom is more accurate, knows more streets/roads, more detail of industrial areas (where HERE just stops an the "entry"), has more and more accurate speed limits shown on map.
Even more: last time I tested (on known routes) and compared HERE and TT maps, both iGO and Primo made me do detours on HERE, on TT both routed correctly.
Maybe HERE could perform better these days but old love never dies

In Spain , Here is best for country roads (some of them never appear on TT) whereas city streets, speed limits and overall route calculation is better on TT.At least on the nothern part which is the one I´m moving around

I am in Spain too. I have tried Tomtom and HERE, and I think HERE version maps have more accuracy.

TomTom maps are the best. It is true HERE has greater coverage but it is also true that in the last 3 years the water strange business policy. That is why Nokia announced the sale HERE maps. Who will be the owner and will be developed further question unanswered. What if you buy Facebook? They will not need a house number to maps ...

I'm right, Garmin confirms, that until recently had your maps already bought them from HERE/Navteq and local providers.

Garmin has bought AdriaRoute who make maps for EX-YU countries. Therefore will not buy HERE maps for the region with over 20 million inhabitants.
