    Example.
The TomTom TeleAtlas maps all highway entrances and exits are still not displayed when HERE or Navteq !!
The TomTom-TeleAtlas maps of the tunnel (picture) was not displayed at Navteq or HERE.

iGO TomTom teleatlas maps are the best.

Of course I am speaking about the (touristic) islands, not the mainland, where HERE can be more accurate. Once I will go there and test myself

I started a thread about a week ago to find out which map was better in North America. Wanted to know which was better for Canada. Anyway, I tried both myself here in Toronto and I think TT gave me better choices. Did it in a familiar area. HERE planned a route that only an extraterrestrial would have taken. I tried using "fast" and "easy" and it calculated a route where I had to go west first to go east later, where my destination was. I used mapchanger and switched to TT and it immediately gave me a reasonable route. I have deleted HERE from my phone since.

Obviously you have not tested the new TomTom maps. Best routing have Contrast map, Here have desperate house numbers (or don't have them).
Also, for Greece, for example, best map is TomTom, tested, from Kavala to Athens...

I feel this thread as an interesting guide line for use abroad. For whatever reason (work or holiday) it may be more than useful to know what map is best on destination.
In the near future (that is the next 2 months) I have no use for E-Europe maps and my operating range will be limited to W-Europe, UK excluded (so far).
Later on this year and afterwards I may really need E-Europe maps.
Am I correct or not that local provider maps are better in E-Europe? Yet I see few comments on those maps (Epsilon for Greece, Monolit, Navigo, ....)
Or have TomTom or HERE improved that much?

As I commented earlier, in Croatia TomTom does have some roads that are missing from HERE (all non-important),
but if You need to find address (house number), specially in some streets that are few km long, better do it with HERE, because TomTom is almost blank in that.
So You could be in situation to enter street on one side, and what You are looking for is on another side few km away.
Speed limits and other warnings are also better with HERE.
HERE (Navteq) improved much in last few years.
Maybe reason is that Croatia is in EU (at last)

    P.S.
I think this has nothing to do with politics, but that explains more "interest" from HERE as they are oriented on larger markets and Croatia became part of one.

Well, this is not always the case. Turkey, for example... or Bosnian map. Bosnian local map don't have much fresh data, but routing and numbers are far better in it then in TT or here.
Some of local providers maps are demn good. Hungarian NNG Map is an example of how map should be done.
On the other hand, as I have already said, Greece TomTom map is even better than Epsilon.
Definitely, this post should be guide for people who want to travel to a particular destination and see which providers are there better for that location. These data should be amounted from people who have traveled more, across the country, and had the opportunity to try out all the providers, not by those who like some maps just because they put only one, or test it only in one or two cities.

Seldom do I use the TA maps here in UK. I tried the latest yesterday and in an area of just a few square miles of a familiar area TA got the speed limits wrong on no less than three seperate roads. Very disappointing, I dont get this with here maps.
I will say one thing in favour of TA though, about a year ago I reported an error to them whereby a certain road was no longer accessable because concrete bollards had been placed across it. They corrected this error in their next release. I reported the same error to HERE maps but the same error still remains on their maps even today
