in Poland better TomTom
In many situations in Europe, HERE maps are better, but there are some situations where TomTom have more 'small' roads in rural areas.
Also with HERE maps NextGen gets online traffic info in many Eastern EU countries, but with TomTom maps it does not, with available licenses.
Hello, Every map has its own problem with truck restrictions. TomTom has good coverage for internal roads, etc. Despite all this, map releases are unfortunately still flawed. They even have restrictions of several meters in the case of HERE. The only thing I remember is that the HERE 2019 Q4 release was a very good release.
For Serbia, my choice is Here maps
I prefer HERE cards in Croatia.
For Slovenija, my choice is Here maps
In many European countries, HERE is better with address coverage and speed limits, but is some cases TomTom has more 'small roads' which are not present in HERE, so it can generate shorter way to destinations (in some rare cases).
A shorter route is usually neither efficient nor environmentally sound.
That's precisely why I don't use a TomTom map for my vehicles. 👎🤨
For iGO to correctly plot routes, you must have a license containing "Smart Route Profiles". TomTom maps are more suitable for trucks; their *.fbl files contain extended truck profiles.
Spoiler: Smart Route Profiles
In the latest Here edition (2025.Q2), there is a bug for my country. Speed limits are totally wrong (or even missing) for highways. This was reported by many drivers/users of navigation systems that use iGO-based maps (R-link 2, Medianav). The previous edition (2024.Q4) was OK. So at the moment, TomTom maps are a better choice.
