    Default Coordinates on map

Trying to understand coordinates on map:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Mestia is small town in country Georgia. According to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] is located somewhere like 43.0353635,42.6887298. I suppose red and black numbers around map are related to GPS coordinates. Red coordinates shows that Mestia is somewhere in 42 44' and 43 3' and this is not the same like google tels. Black numbers outside map is something mystic, but I suppose they also somehow related to coordinates. What is the meaning of black and red numbers on the map?

The Red numbers look to be Geographical (Degrees, minutes, decimcal minutes) coordinates. This is the default output of most GPS systems. The black coordinates are grid coordinates in meters (typically, in the Continental US, they use feet) which are based on a mathematical representation of the earth if it wasn't round (or really, an oblate spheroid).
