It doesnt mention this fact on the Garmin homesite, is there anyway to know for definite if this model is end of life or not?

    Pros

    5″ capacitive multi-touch screen
    Strong customization options
    Powered mount
    Exit services
    Lifetime map updates included
    Lifetime traffic (ad free)
HD traffic reception seems to have improved since initially released on the 3490LMT
POIs can be displayed on the map
    Offers several choices of routes
    Excellent voice command performance
Extensive junction view and lane assist coverage
Advanced detours allow you to exclude roads from active route
Custom avoidances allow you to exclude roads or areas from all routes

    Cons
Not as thin as the nuvi 3490LMT
Bluetooth sound quality not as good as on the nuvi 2×95 series; slow to connect.

3598LMT-D is same unit hardware as 3597LMT, not 3590LMT as linked in the GPStracklog review above. The difference between 3597/8 is only in the packaged traffic receiver, the EU 3597 has GTM36 FM only and the 3598 has GTM70 DAB/FM [plus 30 quid difference in price of course]. Being the sole representatives of the Garmin 'Prestige' range, i doubt Garmin would be pleased with Amazon describing 3597/8 as 'end of life' even though it's now a couple of years since it's initial release. Maybe Amazon knows something and we'll see some replacement Prestige model[s] soon.

I have a US purchased 3597LMTHD, which is same hardware as 3598LMT-D but packaged with a GTM60 HD Radio/FM receiver. I'm very pleased with the 3597 and choose to use it in my daily drive car in spite of it having an in-dash Denso nav unit because that lacks both traffic and safety camera alerts.
