    Default basic stuff

I'm wanting to create my own voice files for tomtom & Garmin.
Garmins voice studio only limits about 5 seconds of recording time, tried to find a way of recording .vmp file with a longer duration but at a loss to know.
Also I would like to know if it is possible to listen to .vif .chk Tomtom voice files so I can study each command from different celebrities.

    Many thanks

There is also [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to use with non-TTS voices. Garmin .vpm voices can be split to individual .wav files, and TT .chk voices to Vorbis OGG files then recompiled. You can replace the words and phrases with a recording of your own or some other voice. For a bit more detail on how to do it with Garmin non-TTS, see this post #57: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. That's for compiling using computer-generated words and phrases, but the principal is the same using a directly recorded human voice.
