Not really a GPS related question, unless you're referring specifically to the type of GPS-connected speed limiter fitted to the late model Nissan GT-R for instance. That sort will disable the 'governor' internally in the vehicle's computer when the GPS fix determines that the vehicle is on a registered race track. I somehow don't think that's what you're asking about though and maybe you just want to wring a few more Klicks outta your Tata ute or somesuch. In that case, i should just close and trash this but i'll give you the benefit of the doubt initially and also because the safety of yourself and the others around you may be at risk by your intended actions.

So here comes the Fatherly lecture:

Have you carefully considered why an electronic speed limiter is fitted to any car? Even the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport has one fitted, but it only knocks about 11mph off it's official racetrack top of 268mph so i don't reckon i'd notice the difference. Anyway, it costs something like one.. million.... dollars.... [big money to me and Dr Evil] so i wouldn't be game to even take it out in traffic at 60mph. But a budget-priced car with a reasonable donk under the bonnet [hood to some] may be capable of reaching a quite respectable ungoverned top speed but not have tyres fitted to match or brakes and suspension capable of being effective either. Anyway, anywhere in the world i've been [except Germany's open limit Autobahns] the posted speed limits are way below the factory limited speeds of most production cars. Even a Ford Laser i once hired in the US which handled like a mobile marshmellow on the Interstates at the legal 85mph wasn't bouncing off the rev limiter at that speed by any means.

Lecture over. Now tell us what you're up to and why and on what car and how it's GPS-related so we can decide whether to let this thread live or die .... bad analogy, sorry.

As indicated on the above post this is not GPS related. This is controlled by the ECU of the car and can be altered by someone that has knowledge on how to do it.
