help New to GPS stuff - Can i use Laptop w/ Android EMU to run iGo ?

Hello, im pretty new to GPS functionality etc, but lets assume i have:
    1) Windows 10 Laptop
    2) SIM card adapter
    3) Android Emulator w/ Installed Maps/iGo etc.

Will the GPS function properly? I suppose the Device needs GPS Chip or something or SIM is enough?

Edit: If it wont work which is most likely, lets say i get USB GPS Receiver, will it require SIM card for "Offline" GPS?

I've only used Offline/Online GPS on my smartphone/tablet so far, so im pretty huge noob here.

Without GPS receiver, iGO on Window* will work but you won't get your location. You should be able to browse map and simulate routes.
If you have a GPS receiver (USB, Bluetooth, etc...) and you configured the port and speed correctly for iGO to use it, then you can do some real driving.
As for SIM card, none of NNG products** (iGO, Primo, NextGen) needs it.

    * There is no need for android emulator because there is an old version of iGO running on PC.
** Learn more about NNG at [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Do not PM me with questions. That's what a forum is for.
