SORRY SORRY SORRY - I did a search and I found it but I was searching in another site (always 3 browser windows open and several tabs in each one). I have not read the rules but when you take your driving license you drive without reading/knowing all the traffic rules ... Anyway I was not planning to "advertise" another site here ... I thought it was the same site (just copy-paste). SORRY SORRY SORRYQuote:

Do you think possible to erase gmapbmap.img from the device?
My question derives from what happened to me in Tunisia: my Zumo500 displayed 2 roads in tha same place! One was real (from Tunisia v.13) and the other one was false, just the one from the base map, very simplified!
If not possible to eliminate gmapbmap.img, how can I find an empty/blank file.img to rename?
Thx in advance
Impossible, you cant see the basemap when zooming inQuote:

which maps do you have on your zumo ?
I have Italy+Greece Garmin original and Tunisia from [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] it is not Garmin
In Zumo display I was continuosly seeing the right road and another very stright road irregularly centered. That was the base map of Garmin. I had to deselect my Garmin map so I had only the real road on the screen.
I think the reason is that worldmap is very unaccurate for african countries. The opposite happens in Europe and USA, so roads are always exactly superimposed or a particular Garmin map excludes the world map
You cant deselect the basemap, it's unselectable
and it doesnt show if you zoom in.
Main reason for basemap is to allow browsing big areas. detailed maps aren't prepared for this task, with big zooms, device switches to basemap.
Just for curriosity I've tried to zoom in a region which I sure have not map for: Alma-Ata Kazakhstan! (I have only Italy now)
Well, zooming with (+) button on Zumo I can reach 20m scale!
I suppose basemap disengages in presence of a Garmin original map but not with an open-source map. So it's possible to see both images of a same road
maybe........
p.s.: I am sure of it! Second test: I deselected main map: only basemap remains and roads have not the same shape as in local map! Reselecting local map, the roads of basemap disappear! (2km zoom)
It depends on levels and may be on priority too
comparing the 2 maps, I suppose you have world basemap v5

TEAM RESURRECTiON
Hi guys,
Can you, please explain me what I do wrong!? I tried to load in N97 Mobile XT 4 maps: CNEurope 2011.40, SCGRoute2.4 (both .exe instaled in MapSource), AdriaRoute3.2 & BGRoute4.4 (both .img files)
First I tried with GMap Tool to brake .img maps and to install them in MapSource and I did it, at least they show up in MapSource I select different maps and transfered to my device, but in my phone I couldn't see some parts, like Macedonia, Bulgaria and some other maps were very limited informations? but at least I could see maps from Europe.
Than I tried to load separately; CNEurope and SCGRouting from MapSource as gmapsupp.img file and the other two merged with GMap Tool and sendet to device as gmapprom.img file...again same situation with limited informations, but now I couldn't see map from Europe any more, even on the last try I delete gmapprom.img file and I tried to load only CNEurope with MapSource and the file is there (in the phone), but XT say that there is no detail map loaded???
Can you explain me this?
Thanks,
First ,use original Mapsource installations to send IMGs to your device or you'll lose search in gps . Second ,MobileXT cant handle maps greater than 2gb.Quote:

Third ,if you load maps covering the same area , or some wont show ,or they will act strangely in gps.
So use Mapsource with original MS files ,if possible, select maps tiles to have an img with the regions you need, choosing the best detailed ones (not covering the same area) and not exceeding 2gb limit (check it in file property after buit it)
