    Default JCV files

    Hi,

I was wondering if someone could help me. I installed City Navigator North America 2012.10 on my 1460 unit. It is in my SD:\Garmin.
I downloaded JCV files for North America 2012.20. I put the file into SD:\Garmin\JCV.

When I checked the map info, I do not see the JCV file.

Am I doing something wrong here? What could be possibly wrong?

I hoped to setup my unit with junction view for my US holiday trip.

    Thanks.

Every map version needs it's own jcv file.
For City Navigator North America 2012.10 you need City Navigator North America 2012.10 .jcv

I have a 1490T and just copied the Europe NT 2012.30 and the North America NT 2012.30 maps to my SD card, since they were too large to put them into the main drive.
I then deleted the original map to create space on the main drive. The maps seem to work fine.
Now my question: Both these maps came with JCV files, one is like 770MB the other 270MB of size and they are named D3060040A.JCV and D3084030A.JCV
Since I now have enough space on the main drive, can I just copy both files into the JCV folder on the unit, or do I have to install them somewhere on the SD card?
Also, can I have more of these JCV files in the same folder?
    Thanks for any help.

Copy the jcv file in System hidden directory in a JCV folder
or in a subfolder called JCV on the SD Card .
JCV High Res D2504060A.JCV (557.3 MB) have more junction view pics in comparison with JCV Low Res D3084030A.JCV (266.1 MB)
You can have just one per map in your sd

I have the JCV files in the hidden JCV under the .system folder on the unit. I also just downloaded the D2504060A.JCV and replaced the D3084030A.JCV with it.
If you say one JCV file per map, that means I can have both of them in the same folder, one for EU and one for USA, right?
If I would add more maps, I can have more JCV files that come with those maps, like South America or Africa or Australia, right?

Right both times. Read info in the link from Caty- it'll get you on the "right track".
