Cool How to enable Scooter transportation mode on 37xx with TWN firmware

How to enable "Scooter" as a transportation mode

For now, it seems only the 37xx TWN firmware has this ability. I did not find it in the US or CHN firmware

1- Create a folder called "Debug" in the .System folder.
2- Create an empty file called "Scooter" in the Debug folder.

In short, you need to have the file Scooter here: \.System\Debug\Scooter

Once done, reboot and you will see "Scooter" in the Transportation Mode.

I've try it on my 3790 SG/MY, v3, this scooter icon/Transportation Mode did not show up.

    Thanks for the share anyway.

It is very specific to the TWN firmware.

That's a neat trick. Any idea if you can add Motorcycling mode to a Nuvi 500\550 which is essentially the same as a Zumo 220? When I updated the Nuvi 500\550 it added scootering mode. My reasoning is to see if I can get the motorcycling modes fuel gauge added to my Nuvi, that would be really great. Oddly enough, the scootering mode on the zumo does NOT have the fuel gauge, nor the rest of the extra info as when it is in motorcycling mode.

When you say "2- Create an empty file called "Scooter" in the Debug folder." do you mean just a blank .txt file? Any chance we can change the name from "scooter" to motorcycle and the icon from a Vespa to a motorbike? I haven't yet had a chance to play with your icon extractor, perhaps I can do it that way.

The Scooter mode works the TWN firmware only. Not even on the other Asian firmwares. There may be other ways to enable it on the Zumo 500/550, but I do not know it. It could be by modifying the firmware or changing the NVM, but in both cases it has to exist already in the firmware. If this is not a feature of your Zumo 500/550, then there is nothing I can do.

Edit: I checked you Zumo 550 v440 firmware and I could not find anything to help you.

Hi Turbo, thanks! By the way, I meant the NUVI 500\550 not the zumo 550.

I would need a link to the Nuvi 500/550 firmware to see if there is a scooter mode. Do you have one?

Thanks Catymag. Correct. I see a scooter mode as well.
