Thanks for that catymag.
Obviously digital signing makes things more complicated
Hopefully we can keep ahead of Garmin to be able to unlock their .img files especially if you have already paid for the files as a lifetime upgrade.
I think, my garmin touring is able to ready NTU maps like city navigator 2016.10 Europe. Or it is not possible to unlock the img. file. If anybody have the same meaning you can write.

To unlock maps I think it may depend on loaded firmware version.
Bonjour,

Hello,
The garmin edge (edge 1000, for example) they support the ntu ?
Probably not best to use NTU in any of Edge series. NT should be absolutely no problem however. See: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Best look at [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] if you're a genuinely serious bike rider however. ;)Code:https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/maps/on-the-road-maps/city-navigator-nt/city-navigator-europe-nt/prod6299.html#productTab
I am prefer to use not Unicode (NTU) map on the all handheld device. The NTU map is more suitable with supported automotive devices because it have the special files for features what is not compatible with other device. Only the one is bad - NT map is not always actual due to less frequent release now. If your aim is not the very intensive automotive trip - do not use NTU. In opposite case for example the 2017.10 NTU is the most actual than old 2016.20 for city roads network...Quote:
