Guys, I'm a bit confused. Doesn't the 14xx (1450/1490 US) already come with junction view and lane assist? What does this mod add to these devices which is not already present?

Yes, US/AU 1450 & 1490 already have all the features which are enabled fully or partly by this flash on junior models (TTS, LA, JCV, SLI). From memory, so does the EU 1410 including routes which it and the other two can store 10 of. Unfortunately, this flash cannot add routes.

I don't think that's what be was asking, Giomen. I assumed he just wanted to know if anything extra could actually be added to a 14xx by this because the name of the thread is 'Enable features in your nuvi 12xx, 13xx and 14xx - JCV, LA, TTS'. A tad confusing really for anyone maybe. Now, you be nice 'coz we don't want to start the Cold War all over again, do we?

@Giomen, I'd stick to your native tongue.

@Neil, that's exactly what I was trying to determine. I read the first 10 pages of the thread several times (as well as the last 10). Piecing together bits of information (including Giomen's), it appears nothing additional will be gained on the US units.

On a slightly different topic, does the 14xx (on routes imported via gpx file) display via's placed at intersections as flags, or does it hide them like in the zumo and 7x5 series with the TW firmware? My 1450 is still in transit and won't be here til next week. If it does indeed display them, is there a similar 14xx TW firmware that does hide them?

Even if there is, i'd be betting the trade off will be at the expense of US JCV displaying properly. Cross flashing a US 1xxx to any asian fw is often a less than satisfactory experience and somewhat risky. Maybe not worth doing unless you were going to actually use it in Taiwan to see TN JCV etc, for instance.

When this tutorial was writen, only some 14xx nuvi have JCV enabled but not all.

    D1340-50 is default for US,EU

    D1340-65 is defaiut for Asia

50 and 65 unlock JCV future in EU,US nuvi.

I think that we still can find some old nuvi series 14xx who dont have JCV enabled by default and if we change title this people wont find this tutorial.
First series of nuvi 1300 have D1340-00 and for this nuvi was writen this tutorial.
Then some time later nuvi 1300 come in store with number D1340-81 with full JCV support.

This is what i found on nuvis 1300 and 1350 from start of this tutorial to today:

1300 first series D1340-00 (no JCV,speedlimit and lane assist)
1300 later series D1340-80 or 81 (all enabled by default)

    1350 first series D1340-30 (Enabled LA,speed limit,but disabled JCV)
1350 later series D1340-80 or 81 (all enabled by default)

1390 and 1490 all the time D1340-50 all enabled by default

    p.s.
If you change on 1xxx EU/US splash number from D1340-50 to D1340-65 you can play with oem.xml function (this know the best dasilvarsa )

Here is my oem.xml with comments (original came from Loly)
Splash must be D1340-65 otherwise it will be ignored. Paste to notepad and then save to /garmin in nuvi memory.
    After boot file will dissapear.
If you brick nuvi just Flash D1340-50 Logo.bin
    Only tested on Nuvi 1300.

In original on nuvi 13xx region 101 is empty, but when you add oem.xml after reboot this strings is in reg 101.
If you play with oem.xml and nuvi wont turn ON just flash back reg16 (logo.bin with D1340-50) if this not work you can also write back original empty reg 101.
