@ lolypop000
SKU (or if you like Part Number or ID) is for example 1340-40, 1340-50, 1340-65 etc. and as you know different SKU numbers unlock different features in nuvi when written in the header of logo.bin. All possible logo SKU's can be found in the firmware of nuvi. My question is where are they placed in the firmware. I need just an example.
Hope I was clear enough.
Cheers,

@pj4mj
Put gupdate.gcd in . system folder and restart nuvi.
@ddabcd277
Write in hex editor in search number 30 00 30 00 36.
I never search number in firmware becouse i post on other forum to user that i need splash number from all nuvi series 1xxx and users send it to me. Nuvi splash numbers:
old 1300 D1340-00 show nothing
new 1300 D1340-80 show LA and Speed limit
1350,1390,1490 D1340-50 and D1340-65 Show LA and Speed limit,JCV
-
so a 1300 will not have JCV if you put the JCV file on the 1300 after applying the firmware upgrade?
-
it will have everything: JCV, LA and speed limit - the formware changes splash screen to 1340-50, so everything should work. At least, it should work with EU, US and Australian maps; Asian maps seem to have an issue that requires changing the whole firmware.

Hi dvazg & lolypop000,
I have encountered a problem from step 4 post 1. The updater couldn't detect my garmin even though my window (Vista) did. Any suggestion?
My unit is the nuvi 1350, soft version 5.1. I have downloaded the required flash file from your link for Unit 13XX and version 5.1.
I have noticed that when i pressed the upper left corner (right after the Garmin logo appeared), the update progressing bar, it only appeared briefly and didn't move at all. After about 10 second, the mass storage icon appeared.
Please advice. Thanks

Hi, if the "mass storage" icon appeared, you did not enter the preboot mode. Try alternative method: from normal mode, enter diagnostic mode by pressing the battery icon for 5 sec, and once you enter there, plug in the USB cabel. On the list of drives you should not see the garmin, but in the device manager list (my computer ->properties -> hardware...) there should appear Garmin device. Flashing can be done only in this mode.

@ltn182
You must put finger in upper left corner and with other hand turn on nuvi and you be in preboot mode.
But the easy way is by pressing the battery icon for 5 sec to go in hiden service menu and then conect nuvi to pc and flash.

Hi dvazg & Lolypop000,
It works (pressing the battery icon for 5 seconds). The updater detected my Garmin and did the update. However, after trying to copy the the JCV file (which match with my current map) to various locations (e.g: Garmin Nuvi\system\JCV\JCV file; Garmin Nuvi\Gamin\JCV\JCV file or just under Garmin Nuvi\JCV\JCV file, one at a time of course) I still coudn't see the junction view. In simulation mode, pressing the upper left corner, i could see the junction view option but it is grey out. Any idea dvazg & Lolypop000? Sorry to bother you again!!
-
If you can see the "Junction view" button, even if it is grayed, flashing was successful. Problem you described seems to either: wrong pair of map (.img) and JCV file or you were simulating routes with no JCV images included. If you are sure that you have matching IMG and JCV files, turn off any additional maps you might have installed on the device and simulate a long route - into some other country. Then in simulation, press upper left corner and list forthcoming junctions, once you reach a junction with existing JCV image, the (bottom) button will appear.

Is it possible to enable other features, like TrafficTends, or these features don't supported by Nuvi 1xxx family?
