Thread: Enable features in your nuvi 12xx, 13xx and 14xx - JCV, LA, TTS

I stumbled onto this thread last night virtually by accident, and it's exactly what I wanted. I was a bit spoiled by Garmin Mobile XT having lane assist, only to lose it in getting a 1300LM.

I have the aforementioned nuvi 1300LM, and I applied this last night. Just for my own education I checked the inventory. A previous poster listed his inventory and it showed the splash screen as passing the diagnostic. Mine has apparently failed the diagnostics, although lane assist, junction view and the speed limit indicator all work perfectly. Is the fail mark normal for my unit?

One other question, because it wasn't explicitly mentioned. Garmin probably will be updating the firmware once again, because there is a bug in the current version. If the firmware is updated through webupdater, will the added features be lost?

Future updates through webupdater will not affect these features, they continue to work normally.

1. Split screen JV

According to a rather knowledgeable person on GPSPassion.com, using the SIG/MAL firmware with US maps results in junction views that don't display correctly. The US maps and junction view file aren't set up with split screen in mind.

EU JCV for nuvi 22xx is designed for split screen.
Download JCV for series 22xx and will work on SG firmware.

is there any way to know if the newere 2350 has the same chipset as the 13xx/14xx chipset? The 2350 has more features and I wonder if I could flash it onto my 1450

2350 contain of boot + fw_all.
1xxx contain of boot + fw_all + resources

I tried it with window xp, but still pop up window open and say no update available and so I can not use updater.??? any help please

updater.exe and appropriate rgn file (only 1 rng file!) must be in the same directory. Also, the name of the directory shoud be short.

The name of your .rgn file must correct if you name as xxxx0100yyy.
Or try as out.rgn instead.
