This thread's method will only work to change the basemap to Atlantic version for such devices as GPSMAP278 which are 'non-MSM' devices with the basemap stored in rgn 3 [hex 03]. The thread kindly linked above by windsurf is specific for loading a new detail map to rgn49 using WebUpdater.
As you posted followed my Post #9 regarding change to Pacific basemap, perhaps you're wanting to change the basemap to Pacific or Americas or even a small World version, if so use the method described in [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]. Several basemaps are available as pre-made RGN files in that thread also. That method can also be used for loading a primary detail map to rgn49 [hex 31], a secondary detail map to rgn10 [hex 0A] or a small OEM detail map to rgn50 [hex 32].
Can anyone re-upload the Atlantic basemap file please?
@zeeman
Which device do you want to put the Atlantic basemap on?
The Tool can still be downloaded here: [link to concurrent forum removed] respectivly here [link to concurrent forum removed]
It only works under old Windows XP (updater.exe wont connect under Win 7 or 10). It loads the basemap into region 03. For older devices mainly to make European languages available. Works with Streetmap 2xxx Serie and 276C
:mn: Sorry, links to other forums are not allowed so have been removed. See here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]. Extract from that:

Actually Updater.exe works well in Win 10. Maybe there was problems with earlier versions but shown below is the one from the kit started with the American BAT file and running happily in Win 10 1803:

PS: Best you remove the direct links to the other forums, not allowed under the rules here. The file in the initial post has been re-instated it seems as it's attached on the server and working fine now.
OK, thanks, I tried to attach the small file to the post, but didnt find any possibility. I made this file in 2008 (as juergenss) and I remember that the updater did not flash the rgn file under Windows higher than XP. Of cause the BAT runs on any windows but the "updater.exe Atlantikbasemap.rgn" therein only starts updater but then it does not write into the device, probably because the communication to the device wont work.
Well, I dunno what the problem is with it. I just flashed a Pacific basemap to a US SP 2610 with Updater.exe then flashed back the Americas basemap without problems. maybe the Updater.exe in the zip file is older?
PS You can attach files of up to 15MB on this server. The zip is only 10.4 MB.
