What is the problem, downloading?
The other way to get files from Mapsource without this tool
1). Copy Garmindevice.xml from your Nuvi to SD Card (place in Root directory)
2).Insert Sd card into your computer and then Mapsource will detect your SD card as NUVI !!
When you want to tranfer files from MapSource .., Just choose SD Card instead NUVI.
You will see files from Mapsource be placed in SD Card.
You can try it. :-))
Mapsource always worked with card readers and pendrives, no need to copy anything there.
Trick that you describe is useful to download upgrade using WebUpdater. I think you should copy GarminDevice.xml to \Garmin directory on SD
hey im having a slight problem i made a directory then copied it and ran it as admin then it said license i accepted that and now i have two files but they open for one second then automically close what is the problem
Vgps.exe runs installation, which looks like you described. Have you tried Mapsource after running it?
You don't need to run vgps.exe as admin, run it from the same account that you are using Mapsource. It install HDD option only for current user.
Yes., you are right. But you can try to place GarminDevice.xml in root directory of SD Card and Webupdater can also detect the SD Card as Nuvi. This method is the better way for updating firmware. The .gcd file will come to SD Card instead the Nuvi. Just copy .gcd file place in Nuvi later., Nuvi will update the firmware automatically when you disconnect Nuvi from USB. It's work fine and you don't worry about the internet disconnect during your updating firmware.Quote:

I have changed vgps a bit, see first post. Now it should work with Mapsource 6.13 too. Configuration batch and files are not converted into exe, you can clearly see what they are doing.
It's good when batch files are not converted to exe. Many small problems can be fixed if we understand what's going on !
