Odd thing is , whatever i try , no maps show up.
In basecamp it sees basemnap and openmtb map, but device itself does not show any map, neither detects any of cards i have.
Anyone got 2.51 gcd file for dervice?
Somehow jawava reports device has 2.51 software, while device itself reports 3.70
jawava did updated to 3.70, now mass storage is accessible normnal way , hold up button and plug USB.
With any lower version it will only boot to mass storage with 066101000230.rgn (cure image)
And GPS Software is reported 2.90 (Netherland's GPS forum mentioned 3.0 update avail for devices suffering incorrect device Date/Time - mine shows 1. Jan. 2000)
Any more hints, how to solve it ?
Arvi has been banned from forum it seems, and sort of is unreachable by gsm (all busy signal - prolly me blacklisted...)
EDIT Reason additional questions:
After looking in to BIN files, Nüvi has fw1_resource.bin as well while extracting GCD file, while Colorado does not have it.
But on Reset this Language "Õ" is displayed , i start suspecting some part of firmware is somehow gone…
Spoiler: large pic
After all, he showed me the maps when I sent him back to you. What did you do to him again to stop showing maps?
Spoiler: large pics
Arvi, did nothing - just entered card - and thats all (regio 2.03 unlocked - have it in my other GPS device) and as it did not showed up, i tried osm map, and open MTB map.
none of them shows up.
What are the names of the maps??
What folder are you putting the maps in both on the SD card and in the memory of the Colorado 300????
The folder name both on the memory and SD card is \garminCode:The Colorado recognizes any file name with extension .img on either the internal memory or SD card.
A file called gmapprom.img will be added as selected file every time with switch on.
Note, older versions of firmware only supported three predefined names,
gmapprom.img, gmapbase.img and gmapsupp.img.
If you are still seeing this upgrade your firmware to the newest release.
Don't lie Andrus, when I got the device from you it doesn't read any cards and you told me in advance that you don't recognize the maps. From this link I can see that I put 3 maps on the device and recognized everyoneQuote:

There is no need to help such people who are lying .Andrus stay away from navigation devices, you are dangerous to them.
Read the post #6 Andrus writes "Update is, device is bookingu now but not showing any Maps. No Basemap or any other.
Maps I used are unlocked.
How to see Files Under Linux/Mac/Windows I know, this is no vase.
AS whole .system foldeevwas not present... by Very start when I got unit.
My tõuget was - perhaps there should be present some registratsiooni file ... to show Maps?"
FileName is on card \Garmin\gmapsupp.img
The one I downloaded from openmtb site.
I had old cards , bought new and same. Taking card from my boatiing GPS, 76csx Does not work too.
I know file gmapsupp.img on colorado may need .unl file if locked.
Arvi, yes I saw those pictures, but somehow whatever I tried, this was firstplace why I askeldamine on foorum to solve IT free of Charge.
@andrus
Just the way you wanted it to be. The rest promised to do it yourself.
@andrus,
And when you use the tool JaVaWa Device Mgr what does it show on you unit.
Both internal and SD card????
Plus the only time you need a unlock file is when you are using genuine Garmin maps that is locked.
Openstreet type of maps do not need any unlocking file.
Post screen shots from JaVaWa Device Mgr showing your unit and the files that are in it.
The bottom line here is if your unit is so screwed up take it to a GPS outlet to get it fixed.
I would think in Estonia there must be Waypoint shops you can take the Colorado 300 too.
Spend some money on it if you really need this unit.
Try looking for Estonia forums for Garmin maybe they can help.
Spoiler: large image
Jawava sees Card files and sees internal files if SDcard is removed from device, but they do not show up in list.
Yes, i'm aware, which files need unlocking which not.
Estonia got only re-sellers, and they point u to Garmin Europe RMA landing pad with repair or guarantee case.
(Garmin seadmete garantiivälist remonti teostab:
Garmin (Europe) Ltd
- located in UK , UK is now off from EU) - which leadsd u to 404 pager not found :ahah:Code:https://my.garmin.com/rma/repair/repairLanding.html
Guess only somewhat working support is in USA.
