Thread: Garmin Zumo 595 firmware on a Zumo 590?

Yes, the 595 firmware works in the Zumo 590. Unfortunately the original post was disapeared.
In general the limitation was the impossibility to view in vertical mode and the not recognition as Zumo 595 in the Garmin Basecamp when is connected, but the connection works.

Just tried this and it appears to work. Will do a road test later today. I believe it will have all the short comings as the old procedure but I don't remember what they are.

Did you do the road test? What are the results?

Did a road test and the gps seemed to work fine. Found gas stops ahead and bluetooth works . Also to transfer data from basecamp and mapsource do the following.
bring up the Volume screen and press on the upper right corner on the screem for about 10 sec.
Select Configuration and Settings
Select MTP Settings
Select either of the Mass Storage settings.

you will now see the zumo in either mapsource or basecamp.
