    Yes, flashing software in preboot mode can be quite tricky, specially on some devices. You persevered and kept on trying, which in the end paid off. Well done!

    Allright, things are looking good now!

    I'm now reinstalling the maps on device with Garmin Express! I used Web updated first to install languages and voices. So things look very good now!

    Huge thanks to everyone who helped! I really would have given up without your support!

    Congrat marksu, perseverance usually pays off with bricked Garmin units and some are tricky to hold in preboot for curing. Well done!

    You may need to add a basemap [gmapbmap.img] manually, see here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. If you need other files/folders such as Help folder, i have a 1690 and can supply anything missing which isn't offered to you by GarminExpress.
