Some enter preboot differently and some very recent devices are hard to place and hold in preboot, if device doesn't go to a white calibration screen after some seconds it was not in preboot at all. Try by having the firmware loaded in Updater.exe with GUI visible on desktop then hold the screen and power on by connecting to PC. Press OK button on GUI or keyboard Enter key immediately the device details appear in Updater window. Again, if no details appear it's not in preboot.
Screen and power was road to success and device was Nüvi 55.

    @elchaca
If you're concerned that the HWID shows as 0000 instead of 2267 for your Drive 50 when you make the RGN file, don't worry, that's normal for the series. Read this: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], posts 11-13.

To see if I understood correctly or I am wrong first I get the last gupdate.gcd from my device that I get it to update with garmin express I connect then the gps to the pc sack the gupdate.gcd generated with the update once done this use the universal patcher Firmware where I get the patched firmware then with the webupdater.exe I get the rgn and change the name to 0000xxxx.rgn and then install it with updater.exe on the gps so it is already patched and I can use it freely without leaving the legend Impossible to unlock maps and lastly also serves for the sd many thanks and apologize for the translation

Yes, get the latest that way using GarminExpress, or you can get it direct from Garmin by this link:
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
Whichever way you get it, make sure you remove any GUPDATE.GCD from the device's .System folder before you flash in pre-boot.

I connect then the gps to the pc sack the gupdate.gcd generated with the update once done this use the universal patcher Firmware where I get the patched firmware then with the webupdater.exe I get the rgn
No, you can't use WebUpdater.exe to make an RGN. Use RGN_Tool to make it. Get that from initial post of this thread. Or you can use [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to be sure the patched firmware GCD is converted properly to RGN.

and change the name to 0000xxxx.rgn
No. Don't used any other naming other than 226701000530.rgn. If you change the naming it may flash unsafely, read the last part of [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for explanation.

and then install it with updater.exe on the gps so it is already patched and I can use it freely without leaving the legend Impossible to unlock maps and lastly also serves for the sd
Yes that's correct. Also, because you've patched initially with an RGN, any later versions of firmware you may then patch using only a GUPDATE.GCD file.

many thanks and apologize for the translation
Your welcome, that English even without any punctuation is still much better than my Spanish anyway.

I do not want to bother much to not confuse other users I think I understood how to do it but I would like to confirm it and serve other users not very skilled with the firm of garmin
I downloaded the latest update with garmin express with this I get gupdate.gcd I use the patcher universl to generate a new gcd patched I deleted the gcd created by express then with the rgn tool I open the gcd and I pass it to rgn in my case drive50 I use the whid 2267 Guing the rgn as 226701000530.rgn once done this connect the gps to the pc and with the updater.exe I send it to the gps modifying the patched already and thus leaving the maps unlocked
I hope I have not confused but please indicate if there is something that I forget to post or there is some mistake in my procedure
Thank you very much, I repeat, sorry for the translation
