patch nuvi 12xx/13xx/14xx firmware with routes enabled patch

This patch should enable routes menu on all 12xx/13xx/14xx models.
The patched firmware for nuvi 13xx/14xx (HWID=972) version 6.31 (don't you dare use it with other HWIDs!):

You can also look at your manual and you will see for what is this new feature that withouth this patch work only by default on nuvi 14xx.

You can always go back to original FW, flash original FW in pre boot.
Only difference betwin patched and original FW is that with patched you get new feature " Routes " that original 13xx FW don't have it, all other feature is the same.
So, if you don't plan route in mapsource or basecamp and then send it to device, or if you don't need to create route with multiple waypoints direct on device before you go to trip, then you don't need to flash this FW.

    p.s.
This FW is for user that like to create routes in Pc and send it to device before they go to trip or if they like to create route on device with multiple waypoints.
Thanks to flagmax and lolypop000, patched fw for 1300 1104 and 1200 1106 MTK also available:

P.S. On this unit I got GIR MISMATCH VERSION error when I changed 3 places for version 6.31. So reverted to 6.30 and all is well.

The difference is huge. Deluxe has had many more patches. But I don't remember which ones (many years have passed)

So we can maybe expect patched fw for MTK 13xx and for 11/12xx too in due course? Or better still can you tell us how to patch ourselves?

Neil, I will gradually cover all models (4+ HWIDs, as far as I remember). Actually, the patch is quite simple and I don't mind if someone ports it to other devices.

After we install this patched firmware, can we "came back" to original firmware if something goes wrong, or if we just want that?

Can I ask what is "route menu"? Which options are enabled?

Sorry for asking, but I am little afraid to do it.... because I don't know so many things for patched firmwares and what are doing....

panoshm, the patch is simple and safe. You can always flash the original firmware in pre-boot mode and this patch shouldn't cause any poisoning in NV or internal filesystem.
Now I don't remember what is "routes menu", as this patch is 4+ years old. Let's ask other people to share their experience.

    @panoshm

Before you flash this patched FW, make backup of your GPX folder becouse device will reset.
Its safe to flash, work like charm.

As far as i can see, the patched firmware makes other 1xxx HWID 0972 units function like US/EU 1450/1490 units in that they will have up to 10 routes that can be saved. An additional icon appears in the Tools page. This is a screenshot from a 1350 i've just modded:

Well..... At my Nuvi1490 I have that menu (routes) from 2009 that I bought it

Maybe that patch is for other 1xxx models, unless there are more functions that are enable, not only routes.... maybe more that 10 routes? I don't know....
