RAW format means a disc isn't formatted properly or maybe it's displaying a card reader that's empty. Are you sure that's the nuvi showing with Drive letter F? You said in RMPrepUSB it's displaying as 'unmounted' which means it hasn't got a drive letter allocated. Did you allocate 'F' in disc management to it, because if you didn't that's not it.
Look in Device Manager to see if it's displayed as a Garmin device there. Start again: Cure it. Do a format with RMPrepUSB to FAT32. Load original fw and then report back.
@Neil
OK I have gone through again and am currently sitting as follows:
Unit is connected to computer with Gamin screen at bottom is icon with the unit connected to PC.
I ran updater and it says you have latest software installed. I have not done anything else. Should I try a restart,? I havent been this clsoe to fixing.
Computer has detected drive as L" Garmin
Three folders in L: Garmin they are:
.System
Garmin
GPX
How can you have files if you formatted nuvi?
sent with my phone
hahaha I have no idea......what am I missing:
I used Garmincure flashed cure.
Formatted the unit using RMPrepUSB
Then flashed original
Thats where I am now.....what am I missing
Does it now BOOT? That's the 64 thousand dollar question. The files have been generated by the nuvi on it booting if you didn't place them there. Garmin folder should contain GarminDevice.xml file.
Yes there is a GarminDevice.xml file. I will unplug and try to boot.
I hardly believe it, sorry.Quote:

After formatting you should have nothing in it or at least after restart only a Garmin folder with inside garmindevice.xml.
RMPrepUSB doesn't leave .System and GPX folders.
Anyway if you can see files in nuvi now delete GPX folder and inside .System the gmapprom.img file and everything with extension .img and .GCD then try to restart it.
Got into setup!!!
