I've just done a firmware update to v2.10 on my eTrex 30x and have encountered no problem so far with CN Eur NTU.
Warning:
The update of eTrex 30x to firmware 2.10 may cause authentication failure of maps.
I did an update recently, and the maps that were already on the device worked perfectly.
Just added a new map today, and it failed to authenticate map.
Do not upgrade. Sorry for above misinformation.
Could you please inform which map failed with v2.10 ?
Weird because if something had changed in firmware protection all your "free" maps should give error in gps.Quote:

Check better.
The City Navigator maps that were on the device before the update worked after the update.
After the update, putting in City Navigator maps, regardless of regions, would fail authentication. Applying gimgunlock+mapsig won't work. Temporary authentication method won't work either.
I downgraded the firmware back to version 2.00, and all City Navigator maps work fine now. You can check the Garmin firmware section here to get version 2.00 and another earlier version.
Strange.
To give it a try, I changed my firmware from v2.00 to v2.10 (etrex 30x)
CN Europe 2016.10 NTU had been installed in the past with v2.00, but removed it as I don't use it on the etrex.
After installing v2.10, I re-installed CN Europe 2016.10 NTU and it works fine.
Then I installed CN North America 2016.20 NT, for the very first time on the etrex.
This map never had been installed before, neither with v2.00, nor v2.10.
Also CN North America 2016.20 NT works fine.
Topo Germany v7 Pro and Spain v5 Pro also work fine with v2.10
Are you sure you did unlock your maps properly with the [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] gimgunlock version?
Perhaps the map-image files are damaged ? (do they work properly in BC ?)
Perhaps your SD-card is damaged ? (try another one)
@pietpisvlek
try a master reset
Done that right after the firmware upgrade to v2.10 and just did it again.
Still every map works fine, no authentication errrors observed.
Many thanks for the info.Quote:

I did another update to v2.10 and all the maps are running fine now.
When I did the first update to v2.10, I applied the jnx firmware patch and adjusted the firmware version to 2.05.
After the patch, the unlocked maps that were on the device prior to the patch worked fine. Adding unlocked maps caused an authentication failure of these maps.
When I did a downgrade to v2.00, the maps that failed authentication worked fine.
I just wonder if the jnx patch might have caused the problem.
