Thank you for the bug report. For some reason HWID is misdetected... I don't remember all the details about gfw internals, will check it later. Just put the HWID manually.
gfw.exe is right: HWID = 0 in the firmware. I think it's initialized to the right value by the bootloader.
I can suggest using bldfldrsmpl instead of bldfldr, as the latter is trying to be too smartass by additionally detecting HWID and SWVR from firmware internals.
Can we get a "dump_rgn" option?
Code:D:\Garmin\gfw dump_gcd D:\Garmin\Nuvi2585TVEU_rgnfile__530.rgn
**********EXCEPTION**********
XGcd::Load(): invalid GCD signature
kunix hasn't been active since the forum crashed. Why not just convert the RGN to a GCD and then run "dump_gcd"?
Ugh, no. Because I'm working on a tool that will consolidates all the steps (and precautions) to make updating FW safe. No big deal, I'll figure it out eventually.
Probably it is impossible too because Nuvi2585TVEU have not truly classic Garmin SW. It is Linux gibrid!Quote:

Yes of course. I hadn't looked at the fw naming.
O-thingy, are you intentionally mucking around with the 2585TV fw or did you just pick it out randomly?
2585TV is definitely a Linux image (just like an .update file). After mounting you'll see (amongst other things)
boot.img.gz
bootloader.img.gz
system.img.gz
userdata.img.gz
So what would we need to manipulate?
Update: I see evidence of Android proggy.
Beats me. I thought Grizzly might know, but he just gave your post a 'like' and wandered off ..... ;))
