I'm out of ideas, may be kunix could help, but not easy if not a Virb owner.
Try to contact Garmin support, probably they will replace your device.

Still no response from Garmin Support .... :(
Does anybody do hardwiring, using JTAG, or sth to control device via PC ? Loading external bootloader ,sth ... ?
Cos if PC can not recognize device somehow, updater.exe can not flash it , right ?
some thoughts :
Is your battery loading when you connect your Virb to the PC.
Is your battery full.
Did you tried an other usb-port (2.0).
Did you tried a usb-hub with its own power.
Don't know that my battery charging or not, I haven't measured it, but on screen there is no charging icon ....Quote:

Yeap I think my battery is fully loaded, but it should work without battery if connected to USB.
Yes, tried another PC, and anouther port also ... ABSOLUTLY NO reaction from any PC when I connect it (only turning on, and hanging on Garmin LOGO)
No, I haven't tried USB HUB yet, but don't know it can count anything ...
R.
Doubt you find such data in internet. Of course except if someone loosing his time and money hasn't explore "the secrets of garmin virb". But with the strong market compatitors in action cameras and price non-competitiveness of this cameras doubt such people can be found. Maybe kunix. He likes losing his time in exploring garmin firmwares. But as far as I know he has exams he is studing over now. Much better loosing his time over if you ask me. :) Not to mention that opening virb might finish it. It is not like opening a nuvi you know. There are lense and stuff inside which when opened if dust enters inside might totally screw the camera. But honestly I doubt garmin haven't thought over of such cases. So really maybe it is better to contact garmin first and explain them the case. We would be interested to share your experience later on.
even Garmin has no clueCode:https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?67844-VIRB-Bricked-by-Firmware-update
It is obvious that Garmin Support won't tell to a standard user to buy a $5 Uart to USB (or sth similar), solder to tespoints and give them bootloaders, and tutorials how to revive ...Quote:

It is a simple 3 minutes job, with the knowledge to revive ...
My Virb Elite gives without battery and without SD card briefly the Garmin logo and a symbol that sd card is not present. Then black screen, nothing more. Even that does not happen to you?
Then it's time to exchange the unit seems to me. It's Garmin turn now.
Hangs on Garmin logo, no sd card symbol, nothing ... :(Quote:

If anybody has a bricked VIRB and already ran out of warranty period,
I'll buy it for coins for doing some research ...
Still nobody ?
My device was succesfully exchanged via warranty procedure, but it would be helpfull to others, if we can find solution ....
Is somebody has bricked VIRB (w/o warranty) I'll give a shot to try to fix it ...
