I've just found a new Thai firmware update. Usually it won't be downloaded but you get "Use Garmin Express to install this file." Another thread describes how to extract the download link from the source text ;-) That works great.....

Does the device have an automated recovery function??? I tried to flash the Thai firmware that I found a few minutes ago. After restarting it reported missing system software. However it proceeded and worked normally - with all the settings previously done.
Did you not remove the US fw GUPDATE.GCD file from .System before you flashed? If that file is present it can flash the unit back to it's original firmware. It's not always there but if it is you must move it off the unit before doing an rgn file flash with Updater.exe.
Could you give me a link to the TH current fw page which mentions GarminExpress, i can only find this one:
After agreeing, the next page only mentions WebUpdater and gives the download button for launcher.exe which detects if the appropriate unit is connected when run.Code:http://www.garmin.co.th/products/ontheroad/nuvi2567lm/#updateTab
Hi Neil. I'll check that - I don't remove it regularly. I've found Thai keyboard as well. However updater.exe does not copy it according to regions not matching. I unzipped it and copied it manually - without success.
The link you asked for is the following:
This one is for the keyboard file:Code:http://download.garmin.com/software/Nuvi24x725x7,Thai_GCDfileonly__360.gcd

How did you unzip it? You need to fist open it in RGN_Tool, you'll see 'pk_text.zip' in the first section, press 'Save' to save the zip file somewhere convenient and then unzip that to find D414900.ver file and a folder named keyboards with many .kbd files in it. Note that they are meant for the Asian unit, it might 'brick' your US before conversion if you try to use some of them.
PS: Please code any outside links to prevent refbacks.
Can use Malaysia firmware and just change the locale.
Thanks for your suggestion. I went to Thailand last month - always found my way without junction view. Nevertheless it would be nice to have ... What do you mean by "change the locale"? What do I have to do after flashing Malaysian firmware?Quote:
