    1) Bricked device MODEL, Firmware version, HWID. nüvi2599

    2) Why and how the device got bricked. during map and software update via Garmin express. popup appeared that said update not successful. then I unplugged...

    3) Symptoms: what's wrong in your device? it keeps in a boot loop.

    4) Does your pc sees your device ? no, only short time when trying to go into pre-boot mode

    5) List all the procedures you already tried to unbrick it and their results and errors messages obtained.
downloaded latest firmware 25x9 and garmincure3 and update.exe. update.exe ran as admin and under winxp sp3 compatibility mode. selected usb and turned off the device. then turned on and quickly press the upper left corner then (when I press upper left corner first and then press the power button, no system system appears on the screen on top of the garmin logo...) plugged in cable into 2599 usb port, seeing the navi and clicked OK.
    but following popu appears:
"The Garmin device is not responding. please ensure following and try again:
    1. The Garmin device's Interface option is set to Garmin or Host mode
    2. the cable is connected to the correct serial port
    3. the GARMIN device is turned on.

    6) Do you have Garmin USB Drivers installed ? Garmin: USB Drivers Updates & Downloads, yes

    9) Can you reach preboot mode? If no ,have you followed this? Garmin Updater.exe v.2.8.0. not sure if this was the real pre boot mode.

    can anybody support?

    thanks in advance!

Try by having it fully off, hold the upper left corner firmly and THEN plug the USB cable into device's socket. Have Updater.exe already open with 'USB Device' selected before you plug into the device and use only a rear port of PC. Have mouse cursor positioned over 'OK' button and click it instantly you see the device details appear, or you can hit Enter on PC's kb.

Because it exited pre-boot probably before you could click OK. Bootlooping devices can be difficult and you'll need to keep trying. Once you initiate a flash the device will hold preboot until the flash is finished but you must be persistent to catch it at the right moment.

If still unsuccessful use different USB cables and change to another port or even another PC.

    Thanks for your support.
I have tried holding my finger on upper left screen then plug in thencqble, it did not work.
Then I tried, what I did before. With the first try it found the device and has flashed the firmware!!!
Now I can also download maps in Garmin Express.
This I did, but when I disconnect and connect again to laptopp, GarminExpress asks me again to update maps and software...
What shall I do now in the mass storage mode? Any files to change or repair? Shall I run webupdater? Or just flashin original firmware?

    Edit:
Solved. Formatted device and followed unbrick thread. Thx

Good result. Bootlooping devices are always difficult to catch preboot, persistence (and timing) is the key. However you didn't need to re-format it, GarminExpress was only asking you to update again because it reads the file named 'GarminDevice.xml' to determine whether updates are required. That file is only updated when the device reboots which yours couldn't do (cure firmware can't boot, that's by design), so the information on the XML file was old, i.e. from before it bricked. So in your case you needed only to load the original firmware after you updated with GE and let it boot normally to update the file.

You have no need to try the following now, but this may be helpful for others: A bootloop bricking may be due to an interrupt occurring when maps are being being loaded by GarminExpress or otherwise, the incomplete faulty detail map .img file cannot be loaded when the device is started. You can see this watching the screen, 'Loading Maps' appears and then the device shuts off and re-attempts to boot over and over. This bootlooping may seem infinite, but sometimes it's not. By putting the device on charge using a charge source like a AC>5v DC power pack (not a PC) with minimum of 1 amp output current and leaving it for an extended time it may eventually fully boot. Without powering it down, it can then be connected to a PC and the map reloaded using GE or MapInstall or simply writing over the problem map with a known-good .img file. No loading cure firmware or re-format is required if it can be seen in Mass Storage Mode by PC.

    Yes, but why?
Do not PM me with questions. That's what a forum is for.
