And also for MP3 files, at least in 7 series nuvis. Put them in a dedicated folder named MP3 or anything else, or just scatter individual files around in the root or in the Garmin folder, in the JPEG folder, where ever. The unit will find them all. I haven't been bothered trying that in any other mp3 audio player capable units but i guess it's the same.

Maybe someone downunder with a lot of free time on his hands could try and let us know (nudge nudge wink wink)
Well, maybe i didn't do it right but i couldn't get copy to sd to work with wildcard. No problem with specific file name of course.

You've got plenty of time, maybe someone in Darkest Africa could try it [not much to do in over there in the way of leisure activities is there?] (shove shove poke poke).

We are assuming that Wildcards uses Dos syntax "*.*" Maybe, Garmin pattern uses some different syntax altogether.

It's now summer in "Wildest Africa" and we are having many interesting activities involving all sorts of "outdoor stuff" I'm actually in "The Cape" pursuing a "Wild Lioness" that escaped from "Mpumalanga"

I'm sure our EU "betters" will soon put we "Wild Colonial Boys" on the right "track", and yes it also occurred to me that the Garmin wildcard may be different. I was targeting voice files so used "*.vpm" of course and as well tried with ".*.vpm" and then just gave up in disgust [because i thought you already knew and could tell me anyway, now i see you were just toying with me]. My computer language "skills" about equal my garmin fw ones. Yours on the other hand i'm sure are like i7 to my pentium200.

I still call it Eastern Transvaal, because i can't say Sylvester, George.

In Siberia I was unhappy with wildcard too. But I have a some Gb for copydir:

    Parsing "copydir,0:/,1:/BackUp1/"
    Success

LOL! We know how to copy the whole directory thanks Capt Obvious. It was because Dasil claimed he agreed with you that it's possible use wildcard to copy unknown files that our little discussion started. Looking back at the posts, I don't think you claimed to be able to do that at all and were referring to copydir command in fact.

You're probably old enough to have been sent to a Siberian labour camp from some transgression, the General's daughter or missus again i guess [maybe both], but up there the only wildcard you would have been unhappy about is the Joker in somebody else's hand in the occasional game of 500 with the other inmates i reckon.

Anyhow, it seems that it is not possible to copy individual files using wildcard or you would know about it.
