I repeated my steps again tonight but made one change when running Garmincure3 the second time.
For ORIGINAL, I used an rgn file that Garmin sent me for the 760. This rgn file got the device to where I have menus. I then added GMAPBMAP from my Nuvi 50 and I have maps now. The only features I still need are Address and POI. Both buttons say "No Data Available". So, are there files I can copy from my Nuvi 50 for that? I copied over POI folder from my nuvi 50 but that didn't seem to change anything.
Where is the Address info kept and how do I get that initialized so it works?
Thanks!
You are seeing a Basemap on your Nuvi "gmapbmap.img"Quote:

Now you need to load a detailed map "City Navigator 2014.20" this will be "gmapsupp.img" or "gmapprom.img"

If you have Lifetime Maps on this Nuvi then use GarminMapUpdater.exe to get the update from Garmin Servers.
@punkguins
As well as a basemap, further to what dasilvarsa's asked, have you added an unlocked NA detail map? To be recognised, the detail map must be either fully unlocked [if from another unit such as your 50] or have the correct unlock files for your device if the map was purchased for it. If you're using unlocked maps, make sure there are no other .gma & .unl files copied over from the other device. The POI's etc that you search for with 'Where To' are embedded in the detail map, not in the basemap. Did you add extras such as voice files only with WebUpdater? Some of your nuvi 50 files are perhaps incompatible with the 760, better to use only those from WU to be sure. If you aren't sure, post a screenshot or files list of what you have in the unit's .System folder for a start.
Here's a screenshot. Also, I now have detailed maps and POI! I'm adding a screenshot since my Garmin 760 appears to functional but I don't have a .System folder:

The Garmin Folder now has the correct files as I was able to use Webupdater and load North American maps. Below is the screenshot of my Garmin directory...

I think my nuvi 760 is fully functional. Thanks to everyone! I went from being told by Garmin that the device was now "worthless" to something that appears to be working and usable.
Awesome users out there! However, to Garmin's credit, their rgn file. I tried attaching it here but noted that it's not one of the allowed file types. Any suggestions?
Thanks again!
Just rar it if it's less than 6 Mb or upload it on Zippyshare and post it's link -
Thanks
Nuvi 760 don't use folder .System, this folder is only on new nuvi start with series 1xxx.
Old nuvi have only folder Garmin.
Yeh! Thanks Loly, i forgot what unit we were talking about here his 50 or 760, lol.

Hi!
This is the rgn file (use WinRAR to extract) I used for the ORIGINAL option when running Garmincure3 that worked for me.
Thanks!
Nothing magical at all about that fw Mate. It's the .rgn file of Garmin's V5.40 for 760. I'm just downloaded the .gcd file from Perry and converted it to .rgn, the hashes match. Maybe you were just using the wrong fw before. Which one did you make the cure fw from, the gupdate.gcd from a unit backup, the 075401000540.rgn from Garmin or from some other file?
EDIT: I just had a close look at your Garmin folder Screenshot. You have a gupdate.gcd file in there which must have been downloaded with WebUpdater or GarminExpress, it's the same size as the v5.40 gcd file i downloaded, 8843 KB.Code:http://gawisp.com/perry/nuvi/nuvi7xx_GCDfile__540.gcd
