The basics are the same for all modern Garmin devices. Follow the tut in initial post here as a guide and be sure that the replacement images you use are the same specs as are originally in the nuvicam logo. But firstly you need to 'dump' region 16 from your device to obtain the logo bin file, then replace the images and reflash the modded bin file back to region 16. If you don't understand what to do best not attempt it. We can guide you but the risk is yours. Seems you do need a 'step-by-step', but ONLY attempt this after doing some more reading on how it's done. Look at [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] of [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for the SD basics. HEED THE WARNINGS. You'll need to modify the Update.txt file:
    Spoiler:
Presently it reads this in the folder 'NV rgn16 dump&write Template - to 2':

    rrgn,16,2:/16_backup.bin
    xrgn,16,2:/16.bin
    reboot

That's to both dump and write to region 16. Firstly you will need to dump the region separately, then change the image/s in the bin file and write it back separately. So your first action is to do this:

    rrgn,16,2:/16_backup.bin
    reboot

That will give you the bin to modify. After you have done that, save it as '16.bin' and place it as detailed in P#91, then run this to write it to region 16:

    xrgn,16,2:/16.bin
    reboot

Remember to save a copy of your original bin file in case something goes wrong or you want to write it back.

    To Neil,

    Thanks for reply.
However, i am a Taiwanese, obviously i bought a Taiwan version of Nuvicam. If i followed your suggestion, will it still working properly?
Actually i could not find any firmware of nuvicam on Taiwan Garmin website. I worried about if i have to get nuvicam device's firmware or some files first
then i can do what you suggest.

Please teach me more, Big thanks,
Now, i just briefly clarified the step as follows,
    1. backup the original bin,
    2. replace the logo by using RGN Tools? (how can i get the Garmin logo for nuviam)
    3. write back to modified bin to nuvicam

    are those action is right?

Garmin have got SW for APAC:

    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
But region is not keyword. Please give us your HWID:

    @aspireryan
Indeed there is no firmware to be found on the Garmin TWN website for nuvicam:
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
However it maybe will prove on comparison that the APEC and TWN versions share the same HWID of 2296. US/EU nuvicam has HWID 2043, but both APEC and US/EU share the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] of 105-02547-00 indicating possible hardware compatibility across nuvicam regional versions. If TWN and APEC versions have the same HWID then it should be quite safe to use the APEC boot.bin as Ldr.bin to dump regions from a TWN version. This is why giomen has asked for your HWID. Also if units have same HWIDs then it follows that PCB P/Ns will also match, but clearly the converse is not necessarily true.

PS: GIR_Editor is used to extract the images from the logo bin not RGN_Tool.

You'll need to understand the process better or you may risk bricking your device. As original TWN firmware isn't available it may not then be possible to restore it as a TWN regional version or even worse not restore it at all. It's not worth risking your expensive unit over a splash screen change so please read as much as you can before requesting further assistance. Only you will be doing the actual 'hands-on' work so we cannot take any responsibility and might have to refuse to assist you unless you show a clear understanding of the process and risk. The biggest risk in fw modding is lack of product knowledge so at least a basic working knowledge is essential.

i will read more and more in order to change boot screen.
    Hopefully you would assist me,

    Thanks,

i have to read HWID first and do a comparison between APEC if it is the same as TAIWAN.

Ok, then you should be able to use the APEC boot bin as Ldr.bin to dump your nuvicam's region 16. We'll take it step by step for you. First you'll dump region 16, then modify the dumped 16.bin with your preferred compatible images and finally rewrite it to rgn 16:
    Spoiler: Files and 'How To'
    1. Extract this rar file directly to a CLEAN microSD card: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Ensure the unit is fully OFF, not just in standby. Insert the card and turn it on. When it reboots you will have '16.bin' in the Garmin folder of the card, make a copy of the bin file to work with and then move that entire 'Garmin' folder somewhere safe as a backup because we'll need the card empty again to use for the write back.

    2. Open the copied 16.bin with GIR_Editor and change the splash images as you wish, ensuring the new images are the exact same properties as the existing.

    3. Clean the card again, and then extract this rar file to it: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Open the Garmin folder and place your 'new' modified 16.bin file in there. Remember it must be in the Garmin folder itself, alongside the 'Updater' folder.

    4. Repeat the process of inserting the card, when it reboots this time you should see your new images on the splash screen.

A further reminder that this is entirely at your risk. I'm relying on the boot bin from APEC version being compatible with your TWN version. Ask first if unsure of anything.
