    Hi.

    I can't access preboot mode on a Driveluxe 50.

    Any help is much appreciated.

    *EDIT*

    Discovered the process:

    1. Connect device to PC via USB.

    2. As soon as Garmin logo appears press and HOLD left upper corner of screen. The text 'SYSTEM' will appear at the top of screen for about 8 seconds. This is the duration of preboot mode and the window of opportunity.

    3. Have updater prepared as per instructions. As soon as device appears in 'USB Device' field click OK while continuing to press upper left corner of screen.

    4. Continue to press and hold upper left corner of screen until update process is complete.

    Thanks for this great resource!

How did you try? Have a look at [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and subsequent. I have a nüvi 66 and can confirm it works fine. You may need several attempts though before getting it right. Timing is paramount!

    Hi,

Here is how I proceeded to patch my Nüvi 68 :

1- First copied updater.exe into the same folder as .rgn file corresponding to my Nüvi 68.

2- Then dragged and dropped .rgn file on updater.exe icon to open Updater.

3- Checked USB in opening window.

4- Connected USB on Nüvi first and pressed upper left screen corner.

5- Connected USB cable to computer while maintaining pressure on upper left screen corner.

6- As soon as name of device appeared on Updater window (don't be afraid if your device is named Nüvi 57 instead of 67), checked "OK", still maintaining pressure on upper left screen corner.

7- Still maintained pressure during whole flashing process (about 30 seconds) until Updater window displayed "Success".

Probably you've missed preboot window. You only have a matter of seconds with that series, maybe 10 secs. Other suggestions: Do you have latest USB driver loaded? [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. If you do, then use with different USB cables and/or different USB port [rear port without a hub] or even try another PC/OS.

So I have a Zumo 220 that I cannot get to start, period. When it gets to the splash screen, it says "loading maps" for about a second or two, then just shuts off. When I try and start it in pre-boot mode, i get the calibration screen, but it does the same thing, after about 2 seconds just shuts off. Any idea?

Normal, preboot lasts few seconds, if you don't flash a .rgn at once it exits preboot and go to calibration.
If you want to use Updater.exe or cure follow carefully instructions from this thread:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
First open Updater and load the .rgn, then put your zumo in preboot, as soon you see the device listed in Updater, flash the firmware.
