1.) Create cure with kunix tool

2.) Create backup of nuvi when you have mass storage access, if you don't have it

3.) Always after you use cure FW format nuvi with RMPREPUSB

4.) Add back backup if you have it. If you don't have it Create empty folder with name Garmin and turn off and back ON nuvi and you will have garmindevice.xml inside. ( if you have garmindevice.tmp just rename it to garmindevice.xml)

5.) Run webupdater and download all

6.) Use cure tool again, create ORIGINAL FW and flash in pre boot.

This procedure will save your time and headache

Thank you kunix for this great tool ( this tool save a lot of time), thank you popej for suggested RMPREPUSB ( this tool always work 100%) and thank all user who report if found something new when use this tool. Respect to all of you
I did all above described until step 5 but my device (nuvi 1350) just don't create garmindevice.xml file under Garmin folder. I don't have a backup. Thx

Mod Note by Neil: Loly had accidentally reversed the final steps in the quote above. You must flash original fw in pre-boot prior to booting to creating GarminDevice.xml and then running WebUpdater. See tut now corrected by him in preceding post.

Retry, if Garmindevice.xml is not created in Garmin folder it means your NV is corrupted.
What happened to your nuvi , what is the reason why you loaded cure?

after step 4 when you create empty folder Garmin do this:

Use cure tool again, create ORIGINAL FW and flash in pre boot.

now you will have garmindevice.xml inside your folder Garmin and you can now run webupdater.

1xxx devices can boot even if the internal memory is empty [no files or folder] but do need to boot to create the GarminDevice.xml file. The cure fw cannot boot so load the original fw and then boot it.

    EDIT: Loly was quicker .....

    Hi guys,

I have deleted only the map files (like .img, .unl, .sum files) from the Garmin folder and from the System folder. I have only one new map file (gmapsupp.img), but the GPS always says, that I do not have detailed map installed. What should I do? I basically need the original files for the 1350 which originally was in System and Garmin folders. Could anyone help? Thanks.

You don't need original files from 1350 but only maps.
Under tools/settings/map/inf/ look if you have map enabled

If you have Lifetime redownload map over my garmin, if you don't have LM then download new map and add it on nuvi or SD and you will be ready to go.
