Great! So I can only cross-flash firmwares with the same HWID?
I can confirm two succesful attempts converting Nuvi 50 to 52 in Greece following Alviora's way and Neil's advice to save firm as OUT.rgn. :GJ:
when you convert Nuvi 50 --> 52 then model number will be changed too.
This is about page from Nuvi 50.

aek, is that a US/EU 50 or an Asian 50 you have flashed? I commented about the change of model in Post 1 at the end of the tut., and i suspect this is an indication of the close relationship of the x0 and x2 fw & hw?
I converted my Nuvi 50 US.
Close relaTionship , I think so. :)
mediatek vs mediatek :yesyes: compatible platform that's all. such as the 0827 and 0943/ dezl 560 - nuvi 2460 etc.Quote:

Yes, perhaps even identical other than HWID and exterior case ;).
@everyone
An observation on removing GUPDATE.GCD before flashing with either combined x0/x2 or full x2: Removal of gupdate.gcd is 'Flashing 1.01' to prevent the unit flashing back to the original fw on reboot. *However, in this case it is totally ignored. Similarly, if the x0 & x2 are essentially identical in fw and hw, perhaps there will not be any NV issues if only hard reset is done and not clear NV ? Informed opinions from NSEs & others welcome .....
*EDIT: I have read that this is not the case with 265W converted to 465 with original 0827 boot bin and that it will flash back on gupdate.gcd ?
Hi! Just want to ask if you were able to enable the Junction View on your US unit.Quote:
